'On December 7, 1989, Atari Corp. files suit in Los Angeles court against Nintendo and PepsiCo, seeking $22 million in damages over magazine ad campaign involving ads showing Nintendo's Game Boy with a screen displaying a color photo of Super Mario drinking a Pepsi Cola dressed in a Santa costume. Unlike the Lynx, the Game Boy's screen displays in black and white only. Atari Corp. accuses “Nintendo and PepsiCo of having voluntarily and deliberately engaged in an advertising campaign intended to mislead potential buyers of the console. The very next day, PepsiCo, accepting the idea that advertisements can be misleading, reached a partial agreement with Atari Corp.. To avoid possible lawsuits, PepsiCo decided to stop the advertising campaign, except for advertisements about to be published during the week (for obvious practical reasons)."

"For those who come home, and for those we come home to". Christmas Eve 1987. A chance meeting at church with an old friend that I hadn't seen in years. She had moved out of town and was home for the holidays. I was feeling down at the time and seeing her was a big lift to my spirits. I can't hear this commercial, or Vangelis' "Hymne" (The title of the background music) without thinking of her and I have to confess that I always get a bit choked up when I do. For you, Ellen RIP.

hahaha i know this is dumb but i rewatch her halloween specials every october. i always loved this episode because the aesthetics are on point for a fun halloween and she worked so hard and none of these kids even wanted to try it. this is why you got to do halloween for you and not give a sht about anyone else's opinions
