Biggest lesson i learnt in 2023 in the stock market is that nobody knows what is going to happen next, so practice some humility and low a strategy with a long term edge.

The way you explain the zone system is incomprehensible for newbies unfortunately
@kenh.5903
@kenh.5903 Ай бұрын
for those of you who want to use the zone system in the studio (and yes it makes a huge difference), minolta made a spotmeter that reads flash. you can still find them floating around online. they are extremely accurate. I can tell you that when I purchased one I compared it to my professionally calibrated pentax spotmeter and the they were only 1/3 of a stop off from each other

Even with new batteries mine locks up pretty frequently especially on low shutter speeds. Apparently there are magnetic pieces that get electrically charged with the shutter release to hold the mirror up for longer shutter speeds, and then release; but many of the magnets are in disrepair and need a thorough cleaning that requires disassembly to fix. It’s no doubt a costly repair but one that’s probably necessary for these old cameras at some point

A very good sample of the photo but do notice that the two camera have differnt focal lenght also effect the highlight and shadow. I do find the Koda Color plus is a bit more contrast and a touch of + saturation. Now im not sure if the film has been developed that way or has the neg been scanned and edited in some photo apps.

Thanks for the tutorial.. Saved me tons of worries and works like a charm for my FE2😀! To help it from recurring.. i pin drop lube it with Singer sewing mineral oil at the cocking lever moving pivots..think that should help.

Hi ... I just started shooting with a 4x5 large format field camera (Intrepid). I found this video really informative, easy to watch and easy to follow. I have never used the EV value method before and did not know much about it until yesterday, but I like the concept. Do you have a video that gives a tutorial on the EV value method? I have a newly purchased Sekonic 858. I don't know if it gives out EV readings but if it does, I would use it.

I have been shooting with older lower ISO film (generally under 10). I find it advantageous since I live in a sunny desert climate. Assuming it is sunny outside, I simply set the speeds between 40th and 60th of a second and an aperture of 2.8 to 4. My only misgiving at times is the graininess of the film. I did discover early on NOT to over process the film. I strictly stick to 3 minutes in Cinestill df96.

One camera (the one with the Ultramax) has a huge light leak, the other cam has not. This makes it a useless and unfair comparison. False information. Fun to watch nevertheless. Thanks. Ps. Might put some Ducktape on the cam back, the cam with the light leak, to close it and leave the light out. This might help to make a fair and good comparison.

For some reason my winder cog (@1:05) won't stay away from the wheel. I've watched a 1/2 doz videos on this with no success: Mirror isn't stuck, etc. I did notice when I manually release the cog and wind it, when I begin to release the winder the shutter fires by itself. Maybe I need to look into problems with the shutter button/mechanism? tyvm

Great video, thanks for sharing! I'm guessing the 67 didn't fit in that camera bag? Currently looking into bag options for my 6x7mlu with 105 f2.8 lens, but according to my measurements it's still 6" tall at even the shortest width. And this bag - beautiful though it may be! - looks like it's only 4" wide.

I recently got a 35Ti and a rollei AFM35 (Fuji klasse) to compare and/or the Nikon popped up the same day I bought the Rollei. I like the Nikon more, as a gut reaction but I’m waiting to pick up the first roll of film from it. I shot both at the same time trying to match the frames up as best I could to “do science to it” and get a better feel for which I prefer. I have found that the Nikon chews through batteries so far, but they’re just normal Duracell lithium cr123s… 🤷‍♂️

Western and Northern Michigan have some of the most beautiful landscapes and best kept secrets in the country. I love shooting Ektar for landscapes as well, particularly when I know I'm going to have blue skies and plenty of colors to compliment it.

Nikon wins in most departments: I was hoping for a side by side comparison, this are random selection sessions; Nikon metres via a matrix system so it can handle even slide films Velvia 50would have been a good choice to see if the camera auto compensates; contax could not show its full potential in these tricky scenes
