if space and time bend in the presence of this "special matter" then its not matter, its something else. and you don't seem to deny that time dilation and length contraction occur, so is the speed of light still a constant then? you need to go close to the speed of light in order to really notice time dilation and length contraction. if you're claiming its this aether stuff, and that the speed of light is not universal, then i don't see how you could still hold onto the conclusions of special relativity, and yet not accept the presuppositions that birthed such conclusions.
