Usually this song applies, but last year the visitor was over New Year so I spent the 27th the same way as Boxing Day: frantically cooking and cleaning to be ready in time. And this year, the one day I have to work this week (in exchange for the rest of the week off without using my holiday allowance), which is usually the 28th or 29th, is instead the 27th... ah well, maybe next year!

OMG! Totally feeling this. We do Christmas at our lovely neighbour's house, then have a load over for Boxing Day (to be a worthy neighbour). And then Boxing Day of Boxing Day we have our traditional Christmas - just us pigging out on all the great food, sweeties and great TV. But this year we had visiting guests who will be here until the 3rd. We love having them, we rarely see them...but we also have a little bit of our minds saying "Well, there goes Dec 27th." Guess next year we'll get it right.

I'm enjoying my 27th, just got up at 1:30pm and everyone knows not to phone or call round and I have tons of chocolate and snacks to eat, good drinks to drink and films to watch.

If you're interested, there's a song out there about this entire week (by Jonathan Coulton and John Roderick, though, not John Finnemore) - it's called The Week Between, and is quite a good song :-)

I think is I decent drill, haven't got the brushless version, never once have I ever knocked the directional button when applying more pressure, to be fair in my opinion makitas are a decent drill, everyone has their opinion and their own personal go to drills/tools, as for screws I rarely use the drill, i find the impact drivers are better much in my opinion

Thanks so much for the tip with the flathead screwdriver! My bit also couldn't reach there. I also couldn't unscrew the very first nut without a vice, it was totally seized up. Thanks once again for the helpful video!

I completely disagree with creating a hole in the side cover to add grease as it becomes hard for the grease to reach the bearings. I’d always grease the cups then put in the inner bearings in first using the grease to hold the bearings in place, using my grease gun put grease over those, then insert the outer bearings then grease then insert the axle

Excellent job Sir! I'm in the middle of building a similar sized workshop, but on a slightly tighter budget. I don't know whether its funny or not, or just a reflection of KZbin, but as soon as one publishes a video involving either building work or mechanics, a bunch of people will come along and make snarky comments. It doesn't matter how good your workmanship is, there's always going to be a commenter who thinks you haven't done a good enough job. Don't let the bastards grind you down I say. P.S. I really like that bike rack idea. Going to have to copy that!! :)

Hi. Why did you pour the concrete over the remaining brick/pavement?
@AddictedtoProjects5 жыл бұрын
Because I suspect that the sub-base is already pretty good underneath. There's no point in digging up the pavers and disturbing the sub-base, only to then have to relay a new layer of sub-base. And the new layer of sub-base would probably be the same as the one under the pavers. It literally is a lot quicker, cheaper and effective to just concrete over the pavers (as long as they were layed properly)
