Ironic how now our gov wants to go to war with Russia when Russia were the ones who contributed the most to ending the war. It makes no sense.

You realize you're talking about after the war ended ? And that american soldiers did the same to french women they came to "liberate" ?

Man, the days of WW2 where Americans and Russians fought side by side like brothers. It's a shame the greed of power and ideological diversity split the 2 up till this day

Predecessors? Are you talking about Roosevelt's predecessors? Are you saying it's a shame, that they don't drink Coca-Cola anymore? Or implying so? Without knowing so? I'm sorry if this is a lot of questions, but like you just seem really fucking stupid if it all boils down to you being disappointed over them drinking pepsi... WTF dude.

If The United States and Russia had stayed locked in together after the world war there wouldn’t be anything strong enough to stop them. It would take China and a super team of other countries to even try to step to them the dynamic would be insane

1:33 I am fortunate to own a book "A Doctor In Paradise", by S.M.Lambert, M.D., copyright 1941, though there is no mention of the War, mostly about the thirties. It is an engaging story of a white doctor trying to train locals to fight the endemic parasites of the South Sea Islands. Very dangerous, white doctors usually left the area in a pine box. It belonged to my father, a US Army parasitologist without access to refrigeration, ponder that one. (Hint: he and his assistant got the mess hall to themselves.) Exactly once, a trivial island is mentioned, spelled Gaurdarcanar. I think so, as I forget what page that was. Probably no one could pronounce that, and it became The Canal. I wonder how that progressed. Also, the Japanese are mentioned once, with the claim that the "favorite negotiating tool" of the Japanese traders was the machine gun.

It's actually sad to be as a historian/history teacher how many people get their "facts" from entertainment pieces like this and "Pearl Harbor". You can't convince some of the meatballs that everything in these films is fact. Halfway through Pearl Harbor, in i was rooting for the Japanese. 😂. Both are very cinematic and entertaining but you will find more historical accuracy in a Tom and Jerry's cartoon.

I've been there. It's a tiny little knoll, made to look much bigger in the film. Today, it's a quiet, peaceful place full of green shadows and the sound of trickling water. Even today, you can feel the power of that quiet, little knoll...

I'm not sure if anyone else felt the same, but Orloff seemed very calculated in his words, maybe it's just how he talks but this was the same on the WW2TV channel. It was evident that the interviewer felt he didn't get the deeper insights he was hoping for which ultimately made this interview tell us nothing new. Overall, Orloff's tight-lipped responses came across as lacking genuineness, and I wish this interview had provided more substance beyond what we already knew. What was cut? Share some specifics. Don't just tell us you're not going to answer, doesn't make for a good interview. When asked what Luckadoo thought about the show, oof that was rough...

I agree this is a great ww2 movie. If I remember correctly this movie tells of the fog lifting allowed the planes to attack the Germans ending the battle. Yet, in the movie Battle of the Bulge the Germans ran out of gas for their tanks. Historically which is correct? Maybe Both?
