I’m so pleased we all have the opportunity to share in Blaine’s 75 trips around the sun. In those 75 years, Blaine has become, the most interesting man in the world.. here’s why: Blaine knows every scene, every part, and every actor, in every play, on every stage in Western North Carolina. Blaine has written solid reviews of the many plays he attends, even though he falls asleep early in Act One and generally wakes up toward the end of the final scene. As part of his theater career, Blaine invented “Jazz Hands.” Blaine knows everything that is happening in Asheville. Everyone in Asheville knows and loves Blaine These nuggets alone make Blaine one of the most interesting men in the in North Carolina ***** But there’s more… there are a lot of things that I know about Blaine that I have learned from our weekly breakfast meeting… Facts that put Blaine into the stratosphere of interesting people. for example: Blaine told me, he once won a staring contest with a mirror. Blaine carries the bags for sherpas on their assent to the summit of Mount Everest. Blaine likes simple food, no spices, no frills, no nothin. when he orders a burger, he gets it with no lettuce, no tomato, no onion, no bun, no sides… yet HE was chosen to judge a western North Carolina food competition. Blaine’s new year resolution will blow your mind, that’s why he ends his new year’s eve parties at 8PM. He doesn’t dare tell you what the resolution is. Blaine is… the most interesting man in the world. ******* But there’s more… If Blaine would pat you on the back, you would list it on your resume. In a past life, Blaine was himself If opportunity knocks and Blaine’s not home, opportunity waits Webster’s dictionary defines “true love” as Blaine’s hot blooded desire for his beautiful bride, Cynthia Blaine is the most interesting man in the world…. But there’s more. ****** Blaine gave his father ‘The Talk” Locals ask Blaine for directions His blog, Blaine’s World, is now read by The CIA, the NSA, the FBI, the AARP, the NBA, the leaders of every country on every continent across the globe and several thousand other people weekly Sharks now have a week dedicated to Blaine Sasquatch has taken a photo of him, and as with all Blaine’s photos, both thumbs are up on Blaine… and Sasquatch Blaine is the most interesting man in the world. ****** … But there’s more. Blaine once parallel parked a train Blaine’s “two cents” is worth 57 dollars, particularly when he is giving a business seminar for Score, Blaine once had an awkward moment … just to see how it feels. Blaine is the most interesting person in the world… ***** but there’s more….. At breakfast on Tuesday mornings, waitresses fight to see who gets to serve Blaine. It can get ugly. When in Rome, the Romans do as Blaine does. Blaine has inside jokes with complete strangers only a handful of people in this room know, Blaine poses in the nude for art Classes. When someone says to Blaine, “you look familiar,” Blaine quietly replies, “Oh, so you must watch a lot of porn.” Blaine is, without a doubt, the most interesting man in the world. And one of the nicest, the kindest, the most thoughtful, the most helpful and the most loved men in the world. There is so much more…. But I have to keep this short. So, without further comment, Happy birthday Blaine, and stay thirsty my friend.
