The Kingbeats, We miss this band so much, we had them over to the Isle Of Wight at Solent Court Hotel in Ryde back in 1985, they were brilliant raw sound. They were a big influence in our lives. Their demo cassette tape got warn out, playing it so much.

Quality, I am not sure that the youth of today would appreciate what an athlete he was, his walking 1/2 marathon was almost as fast as my running half and I was pretty good ( Sub 3 hr for the full marathon). He is a legend.

If anyone's thinking the Ace caff's stage looks huge, it's cos this gig was at the Tennessee Club which was held in the function room of Trent Park Golf Club , Oakwood, NW London. This was held to help celebrate 25 years since the Ace had closed, 12000 turned-up for the first of many Ace weekends. The rebuilt caff didn't start hosting music nights until it was re-opened in September 2001.

Was just talking about him in a random conversation about old record shops in Medway ...Don't know how I remembered your dads name and what medal he won! ..... I use to visit his second hand record shops ,if I remember correctly he had shops in Rochester (Star Hill area) and Gillingham ,Skinner Street circa 84-85 .... I still play those records too ...

Great clips of Lucas etc Tony, thanks for posting them all. I remember Keith and his happy gang since discovering Red Hot in the early/mid 80s - as a young fan of the Haley style having just moved to London I saw them quite a few times in the area and weekenders and always loved them, never a bad show, ditto as Lucas (clever name!) and the Spitfires too, but never saw or heard of the Hi Hats so thanks again for this clip.

Rockabilly Fever, I loved this when it first came out (da dada da da Shake you quiff! Lol). Now I like the memories it holds, but the muisc sounds more like a theme tune to teens program, Tuckers Luck with greasy quiffs or something (now there's an idea). Sounds more rock than rockabilly. I think some if not all the band still play, I think two thirds of the band joined Matchbox at point.
