I bought Magnolia bachi with rounded ends (ordered from Japan) for my Roland Taiko-1, because I didn't want the perpendicular edge of regular bachi to dig into the electronic drum skin for the sake of longevity before having to replace the mesh head.

I bought a Roland Taiko-1 because I didn't want to bother with tying the ropes of a traditional Katsugi Okedo. I didn't know the shoulder strap wasn't included, so I bought a commercially available adjustable strap with carabiner ends, and hooked them to the 4 cable ties on the front and back sides (2 cable ties on each side) of the Taiko-1. I also bought 2 heavily-padded shoulder pads for the shoulder strap. (I might as well use modern technology all the way.) When I went to buy an amplifier for my Taiko-1, I noticed that Guitar Straps sold at a music shop can also be used with shoelaces for Katsugi, and some of the Guitar Straps already have padding on them.

Would be cool if it worked with taiko no tatsujin. The controllers suck.

I loved learning this from Shoji years ago at UK Taiko Festival. I've used it lots in my taiko teaching since then.

Every teacher I've ever worked with has slightly (or very) different instructions. It's hard for me to figure out how to strike 'right' when I've learned 3 different 'right's. But I'm picking up bits and pieces that can be added into what my group thinks is 'right'. Keeping my elbow down is a good thing for me to practice. I've also been trying to learn to control the bachi with my hands instead of my wrist, and this video has a lot of great info for that!

Hi there! Thank you for your comment and inquiry. The Odaiko used by Kenny Endo in this lesson is a 2.5-shaku Nagado Taiko (approximately 30" in diameter). Check out all of our taiko courses on kadon.com!

Excuse me. I’d like to know whether I can record the rhythm that I played with this timbre taiko and play the same rhythm repeatedly through this device?
@kaDON3 жыл бұрын
Hello! The TimbreTaiko device by itself just has sound. However, if you connect a phone or computer to the TimbreTaiko, you could record the sound onto those devices and play it through there. If you'd like the electronic taiko device itself to carry these specific functions, we'd recommend the Roland Taiko-1, which we also carry on our site. Please reach out to [email protected] for more info!

Hello, how many TimbreTaikos can we use simultaneously (like a drum set or an octapad for example), so we can have and play different sounds loaded at once?
@kaDON4 жыл бұрын
You can connect multiple kaDON TimbreTaiko using AUX cables, but if you'd like to connect more than three, we suggest using a mixer. We've tried up to five units connected to a mixer and then to a speaker.
@Musical.Maze.14 жыл бұрын
@@kaDON Thanks for the reply. So to understand it even more better: I have to take the MAIN OUT of the first TimbreTaiko and plug it into the AUX IN of the second TimbreTaiko, then the MAIN OUT of the second unit to the AUX IN of the third TimbreTaiko and so on, right?
@kaDON4 жыл бұрын
@@Musical.Maze.1 Yes, exactly right. You can connect the third unit to a headphone or speaker to hear all three. Each TimbreTaiko will require its own power source and using a power bank is highly recommended over connecting them to a USB hub to ensure stable electric current.
