I hope I don't get too much hate for this, but I've been studying (Brazilian) Portuguese for a year and it's one of the best things I've ever done. It sounds sweet and mellifluous, I can understand my favourite bossa nova songs, and even a little Spanish as well. Many birds with one stone. Of course Spanish wins out in terms of number of speakers, but my first love is Portuguese. Follow your heart. Saudaçoes/Saludos a todos!
