Honestly I quit using happy planner last year. Got rid of all the sticker books of theirs that I had. People have offered to give me hp stuff for free and I won’t take it. The quality of thier stuff has really went down. They recycle all their designs and they are the same every year every release. I started using kell of a plan instead. Her sticker books are so much better and her planners are about the same price and way better quality. To the people that use hp I say if you bought thier stuff knowing how the quality is and thier recycled sticker books go for it. But they have been in a downward spiral since Stephanie left in 2020

I really enjoyed this video and it inspired me to go back to shopping at the dollar Tree for my planner things. I have always found other cute craft things but I stopped shopping there when I found Happy Planners at Michaels. Thanks for the video!

They did the same thing with the black irredescent disc. The checklist on a mini horizontal is a little hard use. You really need to write small. Thanks for sharing your Custom planner

I am late to the happy planner party…I just found them a month ago, and I love the system but hate the designs, there is only one I like but it was sold out by the time I learned about HP…now I have to go back to old YT videos, and see the old designs. And I have decided to just make my own now 🤷🏻‍♀️

Could you post a picture somewhere of the dashboard on the back of the monthly on the custom planner? I'd like to see what the prompts look like.

Mine's somewhere in the middle of new Mexico. I think when the undated release comes out I want the glittery disc you got. They will go well with the custom turquoise one I got. I think they should give people two horizontal options. So people can choose which ones they want. As far as the disc the new ones look a little more peachy to me. I wondering if they are new because you had to get them in the box and now you don't to get them maybe?

Beautiful cover! It’s honestly much prettier than on the website. All of their pictures looked kinda blurry and dark. The pumpkin discs are super cute too. Have a fantastic weekend!

I journal in my horizontal (classic size), too, and I don't like the new checklist at all. Your suggestion regarding the 18 month planners is wonderful, Angie, thank you! I see a very slight difference in color between the apricot and copper discs - the apricot seem slightly lighter and the copper have a slightly deeper brown color. Your custom planner is great - I thought about that cover and divider set but wasn't sure - it does look so much nicer in your unboxing than on the site - those dividers are gorgeous - and double sided makes them even more so!!!

The "copper" discs also debuted on the deluxe Butterfly Daily planner a couple of years ago. 🙄 BUT they match the copper of the "plans" on the work + life ivory notebook AND the quilted cognac cover by Live Love Posh 😊 just sayin...

If you use the mini horizontal for journaling,just continue. You can easily write over that checkbox no problem. I wouldn't even waste my good white out on them. Over time youll barely notice. I agree they should gave added the horizontal checklist as a new layout in an extension pack and left the OG horizontal alone. I love the copper discs. Sometimes the new colors come out and OG shade it just a little off. It's what happened when they first offered rose gold. One is more champagne in color. I'm guessing they had way more issues with this release in that they no longer have the same team that paid attention to details and knew notto call the NEW...

You did a really great job at explaining everything…. I was a little disappointed with this release normally during the Fall release there’s so much I like that it’s hard to choose and I place multiple orders BUT this year it was the opposite… I’m thankful for the double sided dividers in the custom planner however, the design options were basic and just not cute. I literally looked on my phone, iPad, and MacBook thinking I would change my mind but I just couldn’t justify buying a custom planner if I didn’t love the look of it… Also them changing the horizontal layout truly turned me off…Lastly, they didn’t have a mini dashboard neutral layout option in which I normally buy one every year… Overall I think they tried to listen to their customer base but just failed when it came to the execution.

Waiting for the winter launch. I was very underwhelmed except for Sleeping Beauty, but I already bought an 18 - month planner. I did want a skinny mini, but am not paying shipping just for that.

I was so disappointed with the fall release. I had such a hard time finding a planner I liked. I always use vertical layout but this year I had to purchase a dashboard planner, for the very first time. I chose the Everyday Magic dashboard classic. I got the matching stickers with my rewards points and added the Mystic Garden bookmarks. It took me two days to decide because honestly most of the designs are hideous. I only liked two of the custom planner covers but held off because they are final sale. You can tell Happy Planner is cutting back on costs and it does not look good on their products.

@changeofplanswithangie I’ve been a happy planner customer since 2018, and I hated this release! The designs are unappealing, and I am fed up with the focus on the esoteric which wasn’t a huge thing when Stephanie still owned the company. It seems that on what is the “faith” planner, which in the past was overtly Christian, they’re edging God out. The only thing I purchased from this release, which I do like, is the midnight blue cover. I purchased the Prayeful Planner’s printable planner to use for next year. I’ve printed it on HP classic size paper to go in my discbound system.

I’ve been using HP since 2016 and experienced the Stephanie era. Admittedly it was more fun from around 2018-2020. On IG it was more personal - they did Lives and there was hype, excitement. You felt like you were part of something and if the HP account or Stephanie liked your post, it was a thrill! The Michaels and JoAnn sales were sooo good then, too. And everyone wanted to be on Squad - they were the cool, popular planners 😂 However, there were a lot of not-so-great parts, too. While Squad was cool, it was also very elite and became almost snobby. It was giving “you can’t sit with us” vibes. On release days, product would sell out in minutes. It would take months to restock and if you didn’t have it to show off on IG, you felt left out. Also, there was this unspoken HP vs. EC community beef 😅 When the company sold, the personal component died and that has been the biggest disappointment. But, so did the snobby, elitist, mean girl stuff. Now, I feel like the planner community has more variety and we are all more open to using different planners as well as being appreciative of different styles. Also, HP tries to be more inclusive and diverse now. They still have some work to do but they are doing better (i.e. refraining from racist posts iykyk) I still use HP bc I love disc bound but I use and love other stuff, too. Sometimes I shop releases, sometimes I don’t. I personally like this release and have some stuff in my cart. I think if you can get to the 40% off tier then you’re getting a good deal. Especially bc you earn points. I used to enjoy “the hunt” for products at Michaels and JoAnn but my stores don’t get as much as they used to and the sales just aren’t as good. If I buy HP product, I just buy from the website. I usually get my product in ~ 10 days (I live in the Midwest) and that’s good enough for me. P.S. I love your mini and your style! I am not really a Happy Planner person. I prefer spiral bound, but this year I am trying Happy Planner. The Beetlejuice and Nightmare before Christmas planners won me over. I am planning on combining the two. 40% off is awesome. I will almost always buy something when they offer 40% off. I purchased a NBC Planner (already bought Beetlejuice), a couple sets of discs, a notebook and stickers to get to the $150 for the discount.

I’ve been using HP on & off for a few years. I’m not in love with the planners from this release-maybe 1 or 2 but not in the layouts I like. I’m really HATING that they are now putting the year on the covers making them hard to reuse. Very disappointed in that! I may try out a custom planner for the new year-maybe…..

"Meh" is a good way to describe this release. I highly customize my planner, so i usually just buy a planner for the guts anyway. I think HP needs to drop the niche 70s theme because its not working. They are sitting on a lot of old stock at this point. I also stay away from sticker books that have a colored offset like black and pink because i think it looks weird to have a black ring around your sticker on a white calendar page. I was fortunate enough to get in on the Ollies buyout of older sticker books, so im pretty well stocked on stickers right now. Twin loop needs to die. I guess they are trying to compete with Erin Condren, but people don't shop HP for coil planners. For several releases now I've walked into Michaels and Hobby Lobby and thats all they had left.

I’ve been disappointed for a while with happy planner, I’ve been using them since 2015. I had the first planner they released so I’ve seen all the launches, I’m craving the happy planner girls line and moody realistic florals but I did like the desert mystic. I did make a large order but I mostly got the cheaper older stickers. I got the custom planner it’s actually nice. Way better than I expected it to be. I think they need to redo the Disney sticker books and not have the same character on every box sticker. I wanna feel that excitement I did in 2018. I’ve felt like since Steph left they’re becoming redundant. Here’s hoping they listen and freshen up the designs. I will forever be a happy planner girlie. I really wish they’d bring back the previews, cause that’s what got me excited.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your thoughts about HP. I just ordered my Classic "Season of Joy" Vertical today from Joann for $16. That was the only one that would work for me and I was definitely not 100% thrilled with that one. When Stephanie owned the company things were so much better. I wish you could have experienced that.

I don’t understand the thought process with the design choices if the fall launch. The mod/folksy/retro vibe is not trending. The dark, moody, floral leaning dark academia is current. They were so off base this year. My fall order is usually huge, I haven’t even placed one yet and probably won’t.

I also like both types of discs and prefer plastic for sticker/cover storage. I watch planner people to discuss planners - most of my family members and friends totally don’t get my love of planners and stationery in general! New subscriber, loved your video! I also think that the Hobby Lobby girls are my favorites except for some of the beautiful photo girls

I agree, I much prefer knowing what’s coming up - and too few mini sizes as well as too few dashboard planners - it’s why I drifted away from HP…. I’ve recently started using some again

I love the mini size and B6. These are great values thanks for sharing. I also prefer clear or washi stickers. I know what you mean about the animals. I am a small dog person, I typically don’t care for cats in person, mostly because they make me sneeze but I sometimes love kitty stickers. Having said that, I’m glad to see puppies and zoo animals getting some equal sticker time

Ugh can we PLEASE go back to the 2020-2021 releases but with a more modern color palette? The florals are just not pretty. Their prettiest floral collection that they've ever done IMO is the "beauty in florals" collection. I want to love their stuff so badly but if it's going to be this terrible, they should at least upgrade the paper quality. I genuinely felt like every single planner was that "western florals" or "boho florals" type of vibe that honestly reminds me of wildflowers and weeds. I was just NOT impressed, which is sad because I used to order a bunch from them.

I was disappointed as well. The customizable option was boring to say the least. Past releases in the last year or two, Happy Planner would do a live to show off a bunch of the new line. They may not show everything, but they would show a bunch. This year, for whatever reason they didn't do the live until after the launch. And then very frustrating to see sneaks from Joann, etc. Thanks for sharing. I still found a couple of cute things and a couple of sticker books, but very underwhelmed.

I totally agree. Could not find planner I liked. They were all retro/boho vibes which I don’t like. The custom planners covers are just ordinary. I had such great expectations for this release…

I came into planners in 2018, so I got the tail end of the old style HPs. They were way better: brighter, colorful, better themed, and pretty to look at. With the new owners it’s sooo many flowers; sad beige neutral pallets , OR garish bright colors slapped on a divider that says “our design team doesn’t need color theory!” Also, somebody is madly in love with 70’s Fonts & sunflowers . I switched to Erin Condren, I bought off of eBay. But missed the versatility of disc bound and HP is way cheaper If something better comes along I’m not loyal. They had some good ideas this fall, but it’s the color combos and designs that’s lacking.

I found the Happy Planner when Stephanie Fleming still owned it. It was a different vibe then. They had the Squad that would unbox & preview the new releases. It was fun & created excitement around launch day. I was able to see what I wanted & plan to buy. I still love the Happy Planner but miss the old days & ways.

Yes! The other annoying thing is their “on line only” products. Why label things that way when they are in Joann’s, Michael’s and hobby lobby?
