God bless you for sharing this. I was a member of FVMP in Canada about 30 years back (second tenor, my father was first bass, my grandfather second bass). This hymn was always our "closing number" as it were any time we had a concert. I loved it then, and I love it now. And yes, all three of us will be there (although my grandfather is already with the Lord).

I have heard this song for years by this great chorale gathering. I have never yet heard it without tears of rejoicing. Seriously!

Thank you for posting this great anthem. Very inspiring and evokes wonderful memories of my Father in Law singing this when he was alive. You clearly have a great love and respect for your Father, and that is equally moving. Christian greetings, Jim

Thanks for your reply, please receive my condolences, and share the blessed assurance we'll all be there. I didn't receive my dad's gift for singing so was never in a choir. So my personal knowledge is limited. However, my dad often spoke of the choir in Dunfermline, as well Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness etc. I've a friend I call my cousin whose dad was in the choir too, Alex Brady, I'll ask his son Colin what he can find out if anything. What I do know, if often in the lead up to the All Scotland Male Voice Praise and the All Britain & Ireland Male Voice Praise, dad received a list of songs which his Edinburgh would learn before the main rehearsals. If you click on the links you'll find the records/cds of most of the songs that the Dunfermline Choir would have sung. www.fmvp.org/

Such a blessing! Thanks for sharing! I love to hear these men sing! Wish I could sing with them, maybe if I ever move to Scotland, I will; if not, when we sing around the throne eternal! And I love your video, it helps give meaning to the song!

We sang this great hymn in Amsterdam to a rapturous applause and then sang the chorus over again, as was Archie's custom. (Archie was in the Colchester choir I believe) Blessings in Christ. Dan

I was in the Whitstable FMVC under David Roberts (Second tenir) back in the early 80s and I sang my testimony at the Crescent Church in Belfast and also later in Utrecht in Holland in 82, when Archie Rootkin was Conductor. I still miss my beloved old friend and Brother David Stanton who lived down in Lyminge. Wonderful days and my favourite hymn was 'Crucified' Love to you all. Danny Carlton. xxx
