Can barley hear lily. Ignorant crowd just let the singer sing or like don’t scream. The crowd ruined this video
@idekwhodisis29 күн бұрын
I think the crowd singing is better than it being completely silent. Its worse to be an artist performing and the crowd isnt singing along or even cheering. My music teacher once told me: when you’re singing in front of an audience, silence is the kiss of death.

The guy held him to help prevent a more serious fall. This was caused by the skier (presumably relatively new, based on how easily his ski popped) crossing a busy, narrow slope when it clearly wasn't safe to do so. Also, if i'm not mistaken you even hear a 'Sorry' at about the 5 second mark.

Based on your brief description, and that you've not provided more video to show what that skier was doing prior to the collision, it appears to be both of their faults. If the video is slowed all the way down to 1/4 speed, and taken frame-by-frame, it shows the skier coming out of a sliding C shaped turn, with the intention of just cutting 90 degrees across EVERYONE'S path, on a narrow cat track full of skiers. Based on physical size, color of skies and boots, it appears to be a woman, not that that matters. Once she gets out of her turn, she's traveling too slow and at too much of a cross-angle to the slope, and does nothing to look uphill, or pole herself out of the way. Meanwhile, the boarder appears to be going to fast, and dicing his way through the crowd. Even though there's gap between the gal, and the other skier that veered to avoid her, the boarder either doesn't have time, or is going too fast, to switch to toe-side, hook an edge, and miss her (but maybe go over the tails of her skis). I feel like he did a great job of saving her. It would have been nice of him to own some of that, apologize, and help her back up/off the track. Instead, he left, which doesn't look great. I'm glad neither was hurt, and for her, wow. Getting hit broad-side could have been terrible. Sad to say, but as a life-long skier, my experience with the snow board population has not been great, and them crashing into/running over skiers, and then just boarding off, has been the norm.
@JungleLarry4 ай бұрын
Snowboarder was carrying too much speed, but the skier was doing some dumbfuckery as well. Snowboarder also gave the skier as soft a landing as he could. "Twat" is a bit excessive here.
@kepo13374 ай бұрын
He was avoiding the other skier ,that was pretty hard to not crash on him, snowboarder handled this pretty well

Maybe the skier should go with traffic and not diagonally across the cat track 😂

I agree, the skier acts like he's the only one on the mountain.
@obi-john2184 ай бұрын
Your flawed logic is contrary to internationally recognized rules of the road on the mountain which applies equally to skiers and boarders. Anyone overtaking from behind has 100% responsibility to avoid those below. Just like driving a car, this involves planning ahead based on what other drivers in front of you are doing, being in control to avoid them, and traveling at a speed and distance that allows you time to stop or turn to avoid a collision. The boarder was still at least 20 feet away when the skier turned to stop next to the skier looking down a run which would have given the boarder plenty of time to avoid the skier if the boarder had been in control. Having seen this many times, I am certain that the boarder will argue that he was in control which is obviously wrong unless he used that great control to hit the skier on purpose. Hitting someone from above is inexcusable regardless of whether it is a skier or boarder involved.
@nicholas15274 ай бұрын
@@obi-john218 I see the skier turning perpendicular to the slope and blocking a BUSY, NARROW trail with DOZENS of people coming. This person's judgement in this situation is exceedingly poor, and s/he bears at least part of the blame for this collision. Yes, I know the Alpine Responsibility Code., but as in motor vehicle driving, suddenly slamming on your brakes for no apparent reason may not mean you are technically at fault if you get rear-ended, but you are hardly blameless - and the other driver/skier/snowboarder is not automatically a "twat" for not reacting fast enough to your bizarre maneuvre.
@Beet50904 ай бұрын
@@obi-john218 1. I can tell you are a skier. 2. I am not sure if you watched the video, but the guy on skis stopped on the (narrow, packed) run. He did not turn and then stop at the edge of the run, which is what common practice demands. The person uphill does have the burden of avoidance, but not when the person in front of them skid stops like that. In fact, if I could see the rest of this video I bet the skier was completely out of the other guy's way before cutting across his path. Also, you sound like an asshole lmao
@nilsnilsnilsify4 ай бұрын
Not to mention that the snowboarder probably would have been able to avoid the skier except for the fact that another skier, who was also taking avoiding action from the doofus who cut 90 degrees across the narrow cat track, was in the way. 🙄
@doyouevennaturebro45934 ай бұрын
He did everything to save the skier. He should definitely talk to the guy and apologize but twat is a bit harsh.
@mortlakejump4 ай бұрын
Could’ve looked up and not ridden straight into him. That’s the twatty bit. But yeah, having done that, he softened the blow.
@obi-john2184 ай бұрын
Calling someone a 'twat' for running into them is actually pretty generous. There are many harsher and more appropriate terms that could have been used. I have seen too many people sent to the hospital and subject to surgeries and months of recovery due to someone else's negligence. Hitting someone from above is not acceptable behavior on the mountain and should be treated as such. I both ski and snowboard so don't pretend this is a skier versus snowboarder issue. The rules and consequences apply equally.

Fun fact: On Google StreetView (skiview) you could see a random box that had fallen, presumably of a skidoo right in the middle of the slope! It was located about 1/3 of the way down at 2mins and 10seconds into your video! That was 2016, so it might have been updated by now, but still, I was like 'hey, anyone missing an Amazon package?'
