It’s not that we don’t know our guns are loaded or not, it’s more so to drill into your head that you assume/treat every gun as if it is loaded, because it allows you to recall, keep finger off trigger, and point in safe direction or down range, so someone who ‘knows’ that their gun isn’t loaded does just be swinging and flashing everybody. Again, not that we don’t leave our guns loaded or something lol. Learned that when I was trap shooting at ~15. Still use it to this day. Get what you’re saying though. Lol.

I purchased a Q firearms "The Fix" for a lightweight zombie apocalypse backpackable rifle in .308. If I wanted to engage targets from 0-800 yards what do you think about the EOTECH Vudu 3.5-18x50 FFP with a 45 degree mounted Trijicon RMR Dual Illuminated Reflex Sight as solid options? Would appreciate other options to consider but remember batteries are limited. :) Also do you prefer MRAD or MOA for a Christmas tree reticule?

As you mentioned, although you weren't a fan of it, I like to zero at 10 and then adjust the elevation and confirm and tweak my group to be centered out to 25. For defensive purposes I'm not looking for a super tight group at 25, I just want to see that my off-hand group is centered around POA in about a 6" group, a DeFoor Hat Qual zero.

So correct me if I'm wrong. MOA is the English system and MIL is the metric system. So roughly 1 MOA at 100 yards is an inch, and 1 MIL at 100 meters is a centimeter (or would it be 10 centimeters - or approximately 5 inches?) 1 MOA at 1000 yards is 10 inches and 1 MIL at 1000 meters is 10 centimeters or 100 centimeters? Of course MOA is a finer adjustment, but the advantage of MIL is with the same number of scope clicks you get a wider range to adjust? MOA just seems simpler to me because I think in yards and inches, not meters and centimeters. Never heard an explanation that makes sense to me.

user choice, however mil-dot scopes, the width of 1 dot at 100 meters is 5 mils, or 5 cm, advantage in hunting animals you can gauge distance fron head size, distance bullet drop can be calculated , and typicaly 1 shot 1 kill...the is massively important over 400 yards when bullet drop gets bigger like 20 innches

Good evening. I am on the hunt for the right scope for my new Fierce Carbon Rival XP 7mm PRC. I did some long range shooting in Marine Corps with our sniper unit during a training excercise almost 30 years ago now. That was is the exent of my knowledge I am starting from the ground up. I was a 50 cal / 19 gunner we just had be close!! Now as a big game hunter its time to step up and get after the long range. I would like to train to be effective at a minimum 1000 with a goal of 1500. I would appreciate and suggestions you may have for the right scope in the Vortex line. Thank you for service. 3rd Marines Mar For Pac Kanehoe 94-97

Great collaboration! I’m new to the red dot game (vortex ccw ) my problem is dot relationship with the glass window. Does the dot need to be directly above the iron sights? Any help with this would be appreciated.

Totally disagree. 15 yards is great for a slide mounted optic. Look at the trajectory. from 5-50 yards, you are within 0.6" POA?POI. It reduces your need to think Just aim and shoot. #CasualShootersPodcast

What sucks is older school: mil dot reticle and MOA turrets. If you want to use a Mildot Master "computer", stick with mils.

I use digital night vision for security work in an urban environment. Parking lot lighting, signage, perimeter lights, headlights all make analog night vision a no go. Digital allows me to move around in varied light conditions. I can peer into deep shadow areas with IR illumination. When used in conjunction with a thermal viewer, nothing is hidden

Just get a Laser Bore Sight. They are inexpensive and you won’t have to waste ammo doping in your red dot.

It's probably worth mentioning that there may be state regulations on what types of ammunition are legal to own, shoot, and carry. In New Jersey, for example, hollow point bullets are legal for home defense use and shooting at the range, but are not permitted in a concealed-carry gun outside of your home.

Is your left thumb touching the gun at all while firing? If so, it looks like it would be touching the slide, and I have had problems with my slide not returning to the open position when a magazine is empty.
@danielmulligan84222 ай бұрын
I would guess it's close, but not touching. You're right, though, introducing that added friction to the slide mechanism could cause malfunctions. Your slide not locking after the last round could be any number of issues. I'd recommend consulting a qualified gunsmith.
@tenrec2 ай бұрын
@@danielmulligan8422 I ended up sending it back to the manufacturer, Springfield Armory, for repair. (Not just for that issue, but that was one of them.)

Skip the press check part at 1:20. For a new shooter it's an unnecessary step and a source of confusion and it can introduce problems... like taking the slide out of battery as you did at 1:55.
