Let me make this clear before any other HBCU Band has anything to say, our lack of attendance throughout the last couple days were due to people having final exams. School is as important, hope y’all made it throughout the video and somewhat enjoyed it. I wish I was able to get more of the in practice settings at attention and things like that but I was the one at attention that wasn’t able to record lol

Mr. Prentiss taught me very well but he inspired me more than he ever taught me. He motivated me to become better and excel at many different levels. Recently this year, I was upset with him because he didn’t let me play keys for the jazz band but allowed me the opportunity to play the vibraphone. I never played mallets in highschool so I automatically turned it down until I picked it up and started watching musicians like Roy Ayers play vibes. He inspired to play vibes from there and made me understand that it is never a wrong note in jazz and improvising comes from the heart not from anywhere else. He honestly inspired me to take vibes more seriously and came to the point where when he wasn’t in the school at times I became Mr. Prentiss. Now everything that he taught me is never going to go to waste and I will remember you forever I love you Mr. Prentiss! ❤️
