Suddenly Leave me alone I’ve never had the time Part of me Wanted to look but I pretend I’m blind Better now Through with the pain & pouring rain Try to find The parts I’ve thrown away My mind found a poison seed I’ve been lost inside of me It’s cold in here, this year Killing me With razor lips, fingertips Surgically My senses torn away Hard to trace An empty face, a cold embrace Holding me In place another day My mind found a poison seed I’ve been lost inside of me It’s cold in here, this year A thought comforted me And waited until my eyes could see My sight became too clear Then faded with each passing year A brilliant scene, a tragic play Hard to trace An empty face, a cold embrace Holding me In place another day Killing me With razor lips, fingertips Surgically My senses torn away My mind found a poison seed I’ve been lost inside of me It’s cold in here, this year I’ve found a poison seed Living inside of me I’ve found a poison seed Killing inside of me A brilliant scene, a tragic play I hate this poison seed

I want that last solo with Ward's jazz timing and Iommi's amazing soloing Beyond the riffage, this is the first time I appreciated Black Sabbath as proper musicians.

Bill Ward didn't really believe in this version of Sabbath but stated that this was his favorite song on the album.

She hung her gown from the pear tree And watched it swing Above the daisies ox-eyes Like the flapping of wings Through the blue marbled sky From her chest... And the trickling of sweat The midday sun slants down Around her through the leaves Like a loosening embrace The colours fade And the branches creak The hanging gown in the pear tree Flutters its limbs Turns with her breath to autumns- Barning sky a-beckoning With the song of the lark She could sing To the summer but it left The evening sun falls down Around her through the leaves Like a loosening embrace The summer wanes And the branches creak You might also like Ill Omen And Also the Trees Misfortunes And Also the Trees Virus Meadow And Also the Trees The hanging gown in the pear tree Above her swings Like earths abandoned angel Loosely flapping its wings With the regular rise and fall of her chest

This is very difficult to listen to without melting into a puddle of grief over lost loved ones. Colin encapsulates, in aural form, the emotional dagger that is loss.

A MASTERPIECE !. This album was not one of the bands favourites. I think probably because pf all the difficulties they were having with Ozzy at the time. He simply wasn't there. Then months later when it was crunch time and the band had even tried another singer for NSD, Ozzy appears. Then, he doesn't want to sing "Swinging The Chain" so Bill Ward sang it and did a great job of it. I think Ozzy needed time away. But, we all know what happened after the NSD tour. This album is a beautiful album whether Sabbath thinks so or not. These songs have gems inside the gems meaning inside the songs. Obe thing about 70s Sabbath that literally makes the 70s the best was the aura this music exuded and was surrounded in. I don't know of even the 4 of them even realized it. I think Tony was aware of it. Another point l can fel safe making is Black Sabbath really knew how to channel an era

Even born a Dio fan (Rainbow introduced me to this music) I love every album of Ozzy-era. I believe they played everything during those years and have been a really universal band beyond genres. A real treasure for everyone to discover.

Professional critics are failed human beings. They have no idea . So they become professional critics. For a lucrative living. They have no idea why they don't like, just that they have to dislike. Pays the rent.

The only reason this song isn't more well known is because it was made by Black Sabbath. It was just a weird departure from their usual style. But if the song was made by a band like Electric Light Orchestra, Steely Dan, Toto or even something like the Doors, it would have been a legendary song.
