Critical thinking 1. Critical thinking involves evaluating and analyzing information in order to make decisions and solve problems. 2. Four important characteristics of critical thinkers are active listening, curiosity, self-discipline, and humility. 3. Active listening involves truly listening to understand, slowing down, withholding judgment, and asking deeper questions. 4. Curiosity is crucial for learning and retaining information, but many people resist it due to fear of vulnerability. 5. Self-discipline is important in critical thinking as it allows individuals to take the time to acquire information and reflect on it. 6. Humility is the opposite of arrogance and involves being open-minded, admitting mistakes, and being flexible and adaptable to change. 7. Critical thinkers are often the facilitators of change in organizations, as they have the necessary skills to embrace and adapt to changes. 8. To become a more critical thinker, one can actively practice these four characteristics in their daily tasks and challenges.

This video is oriented more toward corporate or business environment persons. But what about people simply evaluating the news or their social interactions? To me, critical thinking means peeling back successive layers of the onion to find out what is underneath. What are the motivations beyond what is being presented as the obvious?

First step of critical thinkers, 1) active listening, 2) curious thinking, 3) behavioral abilities, and 4) being relaxed... interesting so all critical thinkers are not the same.
