I have no clue why he is considered great. Every clip I see of him is just short little bursts of sound. Nothing flows. So displeasing to the ear imo.

in my opinion, his playing got worse in the 80s so i would personally recommend trying to listen to his 40s-70s tracks - his playing is a lot more abundant and directed, and if you’re looking for examples of this i would direct you towards listening to at least of a few snippets of the following albums: Kind of Blue; E.S.P.; Miles Smiles; Filles de Kiliminjaro; In a Silent Way; Bitches Brew; A Tribute to Jack Johnson; Live-Evil; Agharta; Bitches Brew Live; Water Babies; Ascenseur pour l’échafaud; My Funny Valentine; The Musings of Miles

The first jazz album which I ever bought was "Kind of Blue". I've known this track ever since (close to 60 years now) and I never get tired of hearing it.

One of the Greatest Legend's of all Time.I first saw Miles In a club called the Bottom Line and the Village Gate in the lower eastside of Manhattan.Even tho I was from Philly. The crew and I loved to hangout in New York. What couldn't see and do In New York and the Jewish Deli's for food.I also saw him live at the Bijou in Philly back in the day.I also had to learn/understand why Miles played with his back to the crowd.I later got my job in Jazz Radio in Philly.W.R.T.I.90.1 FM. and he would come into station and do a live interview you couldn't tell me nothing.P.S.We in Philly were proud also when he call the Youngster The Late.Joey DeFancesco to record with him.Bless to have live.

Saw him in concert in Sthlm - standing in a corner play some tones. Looked bored. Marcus Miller took the show.

Miles .. and his ‘SO WHAT’ attitude in life … has proven to get things done in whatever way he believed he could . For a Black Man to get to such height … against all odds agains him in this hateful world …. That’s really’BALLS’ &/or gall in life . But if all makes so much sense …
