Yeah, optimal play in ATO is all about getting buffs and making better use of those buffs via aoe ds or repeat damage. To make high cost cards worth it they might need more special effects i.e. weaken, high bleed amounts, big hero buffs like +10 fury, etc. Otherwise much higher base damage could at least put them in tech consideration. Otherwise players have to consider if playing 2 cost cards is better than playing one 4 cost and in this game it's almost always better unless the 4 cost hits more monsters or hits more times. So4 cost cards should be able to dish out about twice as much as a 2 cost to be worthwhile (while accounting for buffs). 6-10 cost cards need to be crazier if they are single target single hit. I'm genuinely unsure if i would play a 9 cost 1000 damage card that hits 1 monster in act 4.5. like it might be okay vs some bosses if i have the energy, otherwise i could play sharpen carnage and get similar results

For sure, I wanted to focus on him as a carry but if you want to see him support, the Singularity video from last week and the multiclass video has him applying amazing buffs

Awesome idea thank you. Madness 0 with one hero sounds interesting to me, i think i could do it and Reginald is probably the best choice. Nezglekt might work too. I should think about doing more low level runs that wouldn't be possible on m16 thanks again for the inspiration!

Glad to hear the turtle feels decent. He's definitely not bad by any stretch, just less good especially on higher difficulty. Also if you want to see me struggle on madness 18 against that final boss the end of the stream I did yesterday has a good showcase of that boss being... unfair? or at least unfun for the team I was using. Managed to barely overcome it thanks to luck and 2 hours of attempting the fight.

@ the pets are 100% great btw i gotta agree newer or doing high madness they are very very good dlc almost worth for them alone turtle seems like alot maybe for newer players but his kit is just really good for a newbie who doesnt know all the speed control vs enemy or on ur team and other better strats

I think decker tech has a video, but i'll probably go over it in another guide. You can access your game folder in something like this path: C:\Users\(Your UserName\AppData\LocalLow\Dreamsite Games\AcrossTheObelisk\76561198049902050 You do nee to show hidden folders to see app data (same tutorial works for that or google). Then you make a new folder in that locations copy the adventure save file 0, 1, or 2 Looks like: gamedata_0.ato and then put it into your folder. Then your save is backed up. I make many folders inside my playthrough folder for safety and so i can one day go back and make videos on runs

It's definitely making things tougher so far, in the live stream I just did the game was pretty challenging. Especially at the end vs the Rust King

Yeah, i forgot if i said it but i meant to say even with Sigruns level 5 in mind it's not worth nerfing a perk based off 1 characters level 5 that is meant to be powerful. It's like saying warriors don't get tired at level 5 so we should make the cards that give tired more expensive or something along those lines. I imagine they wanted to nerf OTK builds but you could do that via other methods and if you do that you should nerf the monsters a bit. It's just my opinion though.

Indeed, it is only online for last few fights, playing the rest of the game without it. Wish the last level lasted a bit longer *longing sigh* :P

I'll leave the perks in the description in a bit, But reginald had holy damage, poison on the turtle, dark on malukah and insanity and sight on nez, alongside bless and regen perks

Honestly, it wouldn't make too much of a difference to raise the burn cap outside of this Perk. Burn is high enough to be functional but repeat cards with bless and fortify are the best way to deal fire damage currently. Combustion is second even with 200 burn stacks

The way i ran this team i think it's mid to high level difficulty to pilot. It's very effective if you pilot it the way i did and it has room for error. With restarts and following the playstyle i did in the video i think it should be manageable. But i do think there are easier teams to run for high madness. teams centered around Heiner, or cold, or even all warriors can be a bit easier with more room for error. I have other videos with those types of teams that i think are good, but this one is a lot of fun to try if you haven't yet. Also, yes I have put them in the description now. Should be on the other live streams as well shortly

@@taceilla209 I think this comp has to be one of the most stable, as for deck building i try to mention what i would do if i could use gold or shards, but getting more holy novas, clarities, dawnslight, and holy storms on reginals and laia early could help. kzbin.infoVU2rH9MZYS8

@@trashecompss Very true, i wish there was another corrupted altar earlier in the run. Some of the corrupted cards are absolute game changers. like getting one of the stanza corrupteds early on gustav for getting stanza II on turn 1. Really looking forward to the new characters and area coming out this month!

@@trashecompss that is actually awesome thanks, sad that is it kinda locked behind Zek it seems, but he can kinda go full support itd just be way worse than cornelius since no scrolls of int in starter deck. also being able to manipulate rng outcomes via leveling up is absolutely awesome tech for fun runs. does it also change what appears in the shops/rewards? being able to manipulate like luffy chest to try and get mirror or something could be pretty epic.

@@astasiafloyd509 I believe items are set at the start of runs. You can manipulate event roles and in some cases card offers by getting different tier rewards but to a small extent. For challenge runs i use back up save prodigiously because I'm more interested if it's possible to do rather than executing it perfectly myself. Recently did a no restarts ever run though which was fun.

Thank you, It took a lot of practice playing card games since i was young and i'm still not the best. I make mistakes all the times in runs so don't feel bad about any. Deck building and run planning is something i enjoy so i'll spend an hour or 2 before most challenge runs planning things out, though i also like variety and am attracted to the shiny cards so i try to take those when i can. Glad our videos can help, GA is a great guy who does much better content than me. All i can do is churn it out faster
