Interesting video which intrigued me as I have a few old ones in the box. I love bone saddles and enjoy the LB6 and 12. After a bit of research LR Baggs states the piezo is cast into the brass body and the saddle is epoxy glued to the body. I heated one up and was able to easily remove the saddle and this shows a stainless steel fine micro mesh between the brass body and the saddle material. I assume this assists with the adhesion between the two parts and possible assist with providing an even pressure across the joint. This joint is what you could see during your video, which was not the piezo element. I was able to easily bond a bone saddle back onto the brass element and al is good! This may help you in the future, cheers

Came to this channel to check how you make some fine guitar woodwork for my own amateur project and found my favorite guitarist playing your guitar.

In terms of epoxy, what did you use? I want the LB6 in my Taylor but I have found that Tusq sounds best. I am tempted to try this with a tusq saddle. I am surprised Baggs still uses Micarta as it seems to have the most impact on the unplugged tone.

Is the lb6 good enough without preamp?

No. I have one. IMHO, much better with the pre-amp.

Thanks Kenji, I sand the original saddle down to about 1 mm from the brass bottom. Good luck!

Thanks Arlindo. No, unfortunately, there wasn't time to do a recording. Next time. Or maybe somebody else wants to follow up on that.
