When changing the filters exposing yourself to the outside filter must not be good if it contains such particles such as asbestos fibreswouldnt this allow them to be airborne which is the whole point of wearing the mask or would I be wrong

Hi, I own a couple Sundstrom half-face respirators and approve of the quality design compared to other similar brands. You could call me a fan. I'm curious though if Sundstrom has considered working with commercial airlines or aircraft manufacturers in developing a mini PAPR type system to be used for more confident, protected, comfortable breathing use for commercial air travel ?? I'd personally feel very confident and comfortable wearing this type system rather than breathing through a tightly sealed disposable mask on a longer haul flight - regardless of any specific bug, germ or dust particle, etc., floating around or sneezed into the cabin! : D Thanks

I divide my questions/comments into three parts: 1. Is it okay to store the half mask with the filter mounted on the mask? Or is there anything inappropriate with that? Is there for example any risk that the silicone ring that fits around the filter is expanded so it will get looser fitted around the filter over time if mounted like that for a long time in storage? Or should you even remove the filter after every days use? Or do I actually save the silicone ring around the filter by not mounting and unmounting the filter from the mask over and over again? 2. This/these question(s) are a bit correlated to another question below 5 months ago regarding the filter mounting durability, which is unanswered. How long will a Sundström Half Mask normally last and what is usually broken first? Is it the silicone ring filter mounting or is it something else? 3. I can see the advantages with that kind of filter mounting since it makes it easy to mount any combination of different filters on top of each other, in as many combinations and number of filters as you like, and making the mask as small as possible. However, if possible, it would've been even better if the filters could have been mounted more downwards or to the sides so it didn't take up so much space in the direct front of your face, making a face shield fit less tight to your face, especially if you mount several filters on top of each other. 4. Will the silicon mask last longer if it is stored in an air tight plastic bag? For example, the rubber on table tennis rackets last much longer if stored like that; in a plastic bag with as much air as possible squeezed out. Now I have my Sundström Half Mask with the filters in a "Premium Pack" plastic container but perhaps it is even better to wrap a plastic bag around the silicone mask too?

Too bad that all those controls/indicators are on the small of your back, and be seen... a post-blower CPAP inline anti-viral filter at the hose connection would be better as well for COVID-19 use. I would expect better designs for the cost...

A great compact reusable half-mask idea similar to 3M 3000 series no longer available, but that filter mounting doesn't look like it gonna last very long if used every day, even when filters are really affordable. I think that in the long run, it would be better if such compact filters will be combined with some kind of longer-lasting unscrewable container for these simple pancake filters instead of relying on a resistance of rubber mount that will not hold up for very long against everyday wear and tear, if someone gets into emergency, he may snap that rubber ring without the luxury of having time to order replacement...

Now with the coronavirus, how well would it fair against it, as well as the SR 200? I read the SR 510 P3 filters can handle viruses. Are the masks also compatible with Scott CF 22 A2P3 filters?

I bought one and I am surprised by its capabilities. is comfy and I can wear it for long periods. Only complainr it that there is no harness for perople with smaller heads. Like I am a teen and it is kinda uncomfortable because its not made for my head. And the fact that no-one sells the wipes to clean it in Australia.

Pretty helpful, i found one of these masks laying around ato work its in good condition other than lots of dust.
