Excellent, well presented and well thought out info you guys! Thank you for your efforts in preserving this valuable fishery! I too believe there are multiple strains of lake trout in the Gorge. One question I have is there a way that selective intervention could help promote the natural reproduction of the “trophy strain” of lake trout? Also, if we hypothesize that that “trophy strain” are in fact mostly in the Lucerne Bay Area for pre spawn and spawn periods, could gill nets be used in the north end of the reservoir during the fall time frame to target the non trophy strain lake trout that are spawning while limiting the chances of inadvertently killing as many trophy fish as possible?

Adding to fish being curious. Fish also don’t have hands or feet, so when they are curious and are trying to figure out what something is, they have to use their mouth. The amount of curiosity bites you get is actually pretty high.

Amazing tip at 3:30, never thought about that. Makes a big difference of getting a bite or not.

Makes a huge difference. I don’t put a bait in the water if my knot is at a bad angle. I will actually set my knot angle while pulling hard on my line. This lets me check my line and knot strength and my drag, as well as setting the knot angle.
