This is similar to saying "I only like their old stuff" or, "I liked them before they were famous". Leave people alone to experience things in their own way, even if they do it "touristy".

This is fine for people revisiting. Everybody says what you're saying, after the first visit. Nothing new here!

Exactly. I’m heading back in February with friends who have never been so I feel compelled to do Palazzo Ducale, Basilica, St Marc Square etc. I wish I didn’t have to but if it’s your first time you got to. We will venture outside of the main tourist area for the very reasons mentioned, less crowded and touristy but some things should be observed and cherished.

Hate when videos leave out pricing information. How much is parking, how much is the train, etc

Excellent advice, and it only takes 5-10 minutes walk to find the cheaper and less crowded places👍

in 'off tourist' times, are a lot of the shops still open? or do they close up when the crowds thing into October etc?
@jetsetjuliettravels6 ай бұрын
Generally things will stay open all year long except for the holidays (Christmas/NYE). It's quieter, but there are still a lot of tourists (just not as many as there are during the peak season). I'm a huge fan of visiting during the off times - you can really feel what it's like to live like a local.

@@jetsetjuliettravels have wanted to see Venice since I 'saw it' in an anime based on the real place. Also will be interesting in seeing about what is involved to get a place there long-term (as I am assuming that is what you are doing now). GOOD LUCK! 👍👍

I was there two weeks ago and took the bus and a vaporetto to get to my hotel, which cost €19,50. We discovered later that there was an Alilaguna boat from our nearest vaporetto stop directly to the airport and that only cost€15, so we took that to get back . I’m not sure how damaging the Airbnb concept is to these tourist cities. I always go to hotels.

No it's excruciatingly hot in the summer! I just updated it! Late September is usually when I go (my birthday) and it is by far the best time, hands down.
