Hello, I enjoyed watching the video of the work process. I'm writing this comment because I want to ask you. Do I need to elaborate UV unwrapping to the point where it's almost perfect when I paint textures with those brushes? I am not really good at uv unwrapping... so I want to know is it okay to texture paint normal uv unwrapping( that is not really elaborate) with your brushes. I'm using a translator, so I don't know if the intention of the text will be conveyed, but I'd appreciate it if you could give me an answer. Thank you.
@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsifАй бұрын
For practicing you do not require elaborate UV unwrapping at all. At least make sure that there are no overlapping islands and you are totally fine. But you can always try to learn about UV mapping as it can be almost considered as a basic skill to have. So I am not implying to ignore it totally either. But for your personal works just have fun with painting with little care for a professional UV mapping! :D

So, what you did was save the generated normal map as an image, then plugged it into the base colour, so as you hand-paint the base-colour and save it the normal map changes too? I haven't quite been able to figure out how this works.

Can I export to Unreal this texture?
@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsifАй бұрын
Sure. To make it look exactly the same you would need to use an unlit shader. Also color management might be a factor too. If things looks different in another software it is usually because of color management settings. (For instance I use standard color management in Blender for handpainted scenes)

I have a question of you are in a solid mode but you can see the colors of the object? I still don't understand how can you achieve that kind of lighting bcs you're in a solid mode and do you use eeveee or cycle rendering?
@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsif2 ай бұрын
Right! I saw that amazing portal he made! Yes u will be able to see the colors you are painting in solid view. You have to select flat shading first/ it is like an unlit shader you find in unity. works on viewport too without having to turn on rendered view. works for every engine whether it is eevee or cycles or the default solid view

Hello! This is really great! But I can't find how you are painting normals but seeing the rendered image. If you are able to, can you just write how you do it? Thanks
@CraftReaper-OmarFaruqTawsif2 ай бұрын
Sure! Think it just like regular shading with a princple bsdf shader. in rendered view you can directly see the combined effects of different maps such as albedo, normal, roughness etc plugged into it. only difference is we are editing the maps and seeing the result in realtime here

Sure. It can improve outcome for you if you are more used to 3d coats. Specially with 3d coats layering system you can aim for a non destructive texturing process

I use Blender myself and have 200+ hours and i have tried making my own painterly texure using Suzanne the monkey as a test. I f*ck3D up because i painted the normals by using Photopea (free browser Photoshop copy) and a downloaded set of custom brushes to do it. (Painting normal for a painterly style work, its just that it is basicly imposible without having Adobe Substance Painter or some other else expensive and professional software)
