We live in Indiana and they can't clear snow here for anything. My husband grew up in Montana and he never missed a day of school because of snow

You mean the estate sale stuff? We say the show starts when Matt starts talking 😆
@MeMyselfAndUs9035 күн бұрын
@ Yes…when the estate sale stuff starts. In case I want to refer back to something, or if people are watching because of their interest in Matt’s resale knowledge. There are people who want to immediately get to the heart of the video.

Funny story….we are from Michigan and happened to be in Dallas when they had a big snowfall. It was so funny seeing people freak out! Unfortunately, by the time I started to make a miniature snowman at,the entrance of the hotel, the snow had turned mostly to ice. To make matters worse, the freeway to the airport was so backed up, my husband’s driver was speeding anywhere there was not a car (mostly speeding down the shoulder of the express way 😮). We made it for our flight.

I bought a Turquoise bead necklace at estate sale. It was with the costume jewelry. All the gold is real gold (tested & marked) but I'm not sure about the Turquoise beads. How do you test to make sure your turquoise color beads are real? They don't have veining but do have variation in color. Thank you.

Such great comments. If you guys are interested, we are building a subreddit just for this type of stuff. A place where resellers/entrepreneurs can share ideas. If you want to check it (and beware, it is pretty new so not much there yet) it is www.reddit.com/r/TheWhatSoldPodcast/

11:33 “Smishing”. Had to look that one up. For others who don’t know, it is a text message phishing scam. I just didn’t know the term. Forward smishing texts to 7726 (or “SPAM”) on most carriers. This helps your carrier identify and block spammers. You can also report the scam to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the United States. I heard using the 7726 might not be a good idea because a scammer can get your phone info from a person forwarding a text to 7726.

5:47 I would like to see you do a Marketplace podcast. Also, you used the term cesspool, which has many connotations. That is why I want to know more.

3:07 Interesting info on “engagement” as it relates to the KZbin algorithm. I like knowing this stuff about KZbin because I I use those strategies for channels I like in order to help them out. One thing I do (just because) is write a lot of comments and never a negative one. I also heard that if you watch an ad for 20 seconds, the channel gets paid.

I am very thankful for this video. It is teaching me not to “sweat the small stuff”. My OCD really gets in the way of me posting things for resale because my perfectionism takes so much time.

Rusty? First of all love your videos and your honesty. It is so refreshing! I bid on an auction on ebay for a very expensive piece of jewelry. The lady didnt knows what she had. I messaged her and told her and suggested she cancel the auction as i was the only bidder & the piece was worth a good amount if money. She couldn't believe it or that i told her. Good people will always speak up. Like you. ❤ thankyou for being a good person

Did you change your “what sold” videos? I liked the way you showed a snap shop of each thing that sold and quickly talked about it then moved onto the next item. I don’t care about this chit chat style.
@whatsoldАй бұрын
Hi Molly, thanks for your feedback. These videos come directly from the 'What Sold Podcast' and are different from the videos that Matt/Rusty does. These podcast videos just allow people to access the show in a different way. Rusty will be making more of the vids you are used to. Feel free to skip these podcast ones if they are too chit chatty. Totally understand.

the beauty to rusty is that it is fun to play along. it is more engaging than someone just saying hey i went to the thrift shop and found this with an explanation that can too easily be very dry to consume. I was emboldened to open a sale on ebay and, following Rusty`s advice, and throwing my own twist in, sold the piece within 2 weeks. I know it will be resold for even more $, but i`m in Canada, so our currency is worth nothing. BTW - future theme for Rusty - international sales and exchange rates...

It can be misleading but if you test the post I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually gold , this is a common technique for those who have sensitive skin. Jewelry manufacturers would make just the post 14 kt gold or surgical steel I noticed mostly with jewelry from the 70's to even 90's
