Sufism existed to help people truly submit to Allah Ta'ala and follow the his commands. True sufis are those who firmly adhere to the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him; they are those who purified themselves of their nafs (ego) and followed the shariah (commandments of God)
