Not racist at all. The civil war was about taxes, not slavery. Maryland and New Jersey both has slaves at the time of the war. If it was about slavery then those two states would not have fought with the union.

@@darylc2799 pulling out the old "murders tens of millions" card again, huh? Really stupid. Btw, how much British, Spanish, Portugal and French songs, people, names, books should be canceled during their 250+ tr live affair with slavery? And, no, I don't care if after three centuries, they decided to ban it. Great. Hitler stood for the elimination on earth of whole races of people and complemented that by trying to avenge his WWI miseries by conquering the world. Horst Wessel was a specific disciple of that mass homicidal vision. A bit different. And there was a lot going on in the south besides slavery. They had a war you may have heard of and Dixie was the south's most popular tune at the front. It stood for spirit and esprit de corps in battle. And I'm not even going into secession vs slavery lecture.

@@darylc2799 Lincoln played it upon hearing the war was over, in tribute to the fallen foe (as he was trying to figure out a way to get blacks out of here back to Africa or somewhere in today's Latin America). You callin' ole Abe a NAZI? NAZIs killed directly or indirectly 40,000,000 people and set out to seize and conquer all of the Eurasian land mass. Once that was done, plans were in motion to enlarge Auschwitz to be able to kill tens of millions instead of just millions. I don't think Lee and Davis were for that, do you? And they didn't attack anyone until they were told, summarily and without basis, that DC politicians didn't care about the fact that seven states had voted in ordinances of secession and to go home and pay taxes. Four months later, shots were fired in an attempt to LEAVE a country (like we did in 1776) that wouldn't let go, not conquer one. This silly Horst Wessel reference is so easily disposed of.

@@darylc2799One has nothing to do with the other. One was a centralized police state that killed 40,000,000 people and would've killed many more if not stopped. And Germany better start doing SOMETHING (songs, uniforms, attitudes or something) from their more martial past because what they're doing now, sanitizing their past and wallowing in "white guilt syndrome" isn't working: their white population is shrinking, Syrians have been brought in by Euro communists and are a constant source of bloody violence (now growing in number), and Mr. Putin is taking it all in. Putin much prefers this effeminate, softer and gentler version of Germany and is one reason he invaded Ukraine in the first major military action in 80 yrs.

It's not a shame anymore than it's a shame they moved the Citadel from Marion Square in 1918. As the college grows, changes have to be made for accommodating more students, advanced technology, and better facilities.
