Hello TJ! Thank you for this beautiful video. I do appreciate your attention to detail by showing the name of the artist and the title of the painting as in the case of van Dyck´s portrait of Algernon Percy, his wife and daughter. The gorgeous lacquered cabinet on a stand shown at 9.56 is impressive because ebony, like mahogany, is a very hard wood and extremely difficult to carve. At 12.26 in the wonderful Gibbons Room, there is a copy of Queen Henrietta and his favourite dwarf Sir Jeffrey Hudson, the original is in the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC. At 14.00 is a portrait of the famous courtesan (a polite name for a high-ranking prostitute) "Kitty" Fisher by Sir Joshua Reynolds. I wish you a nice weekend. Regards.

Polesden Lacy is a wonderful place, particularly if you are an art lover. Mrs. Greville´s collection includes magnificent works by Sir Thomas Lawrence and Sir Henry Raeburn. I visited the house in 1999 and bought a beautiful guidebook. Thank you very much for this video which brought back some happy memories. Greetings from Argentina.

The collections are lovely for art lovers. I couldn’t show them all in the video and had to revisit the house without video to properly admire the collections.

@@TJourneyexploration A sensible idea. If you aim at a wider audience that is the logical thing to do. Do the NT still produce those beautiful guidebooks? The one I bought was published in 1999 and has 80 pages. The quality of the paper and the photographs is excellent. Regards

@arslongavitabrevis5136 I couldn’t see any guidebook on sale on any of my visit. Mostly now online. There are sometime information booklet in each room. NT also send magazine once a year to members.

What does the height of the water need to be for the dam to overflow do you no plz
@TJourneyexploration5 ай бұрын
Hi, @ianm139. The maximum depth of Derwent Reservoir is 30m(100ft); I guess the water needs to be more than this for overflow; the Howden Reservoir overflows first before the Derwent Reservoir, later followed by Ladybower Reservoir usually requires heavy rain or continuous rain.
