I hope that BBC2 Network should learn lessons for not showing more classic idents between 2015 & 2018 like "Steam", "Gorilla Shadow" and "Wave Day" etc.

Are these idents back on screen for good? They seem to be using them a lot now. I thought they were only being shown briefly.

BBC2 England is such a killjoy. Only 9 idents they decided to show whereas BBC2 NI show all of these. :/

They are showing 36 idents in Northern Ireland.

You do have to consider though that most of the idents NI uses were not shot in HD, BBC Two NI is no HD so they can get away with it, BBC Two England/England HD cannot use them

PATV Scunthorpe Maybe, but that doesn't explain why they couldn't show more of the idents that were introduced at the start of the new millennium.

C01JD Apparently, BBC Two England only wanted 'fun' idents, hence Dog, Swan and Car (I am only passing on what has been said on TV Forum). But I am sure it also said about where the '2' is active rather than static, so in 'Paint' something happens to the '2', while in Car, The '2' has an impact on the ident.

+James Laverty Because Network BBC Two is broadcast in HD, and the idents were not made in HD, so it would be misleading to do so, whereas Northern Irelands is still being broadcast in SD, so they can show all of them.
