I enjoy the lore, and piecing the various stories together. But I did not go up with the knowledge from the manuals. So I actually thought that the "timeline" followed the release order. Which did puzzle me a bit for the WindWaker. But I worked out that it was likely down to some time travel shenanigans and accepted it. When the Timeline was released I found is exciting and fascinating. But did not take it super seriously as it could be subject to change as new games came out. So due to this mind set, I have not hand any issues with Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom's possible contradictory story telling. If you go into the lore with the mind set that they are all Legends, so they are likely to occasionally contradict each other like Legends told orally in the past. It makes it fun to examine some of them as possibly massively different versions of the same story that have diverged due to a huge game of telephone. It is fun. And dues not need to be taken to seriously. And honestly, theories are more fun then lore breakdowns. At least for me.

Am I the only person in the world with a copy of Hyrule Historia with a page 68? or am I the only person who have actually read it..... Page 68 explains everything people complain about and do not understand about the timeline. But for some mysterious reason. No one talks about it. I think this is a fine video. But truly, all you have to do is read up from page 68, and everything is explained.

guys I know that you love RE1 remake, I do love either, but face it, most modern and new gen gamers DON'T LIKE FIXED CAMERA ANGLES AND TANK CONTROLS, you can say whatever you want, but thats the true, they are the ones who buy most of the games, and they are the ones who keep this franchise mainstream, and they don't like this gameplay style, that's why most of they don't even know about RE1 remake even if it is selled in modern consoles by the hd version, new gamers don't like to learn how to play a game, they just want to plug and play it, so we need a RE1 remake, the game do not age very well because of the beloved gameplay of thank controls and fixed camera angles, modern gamers just don't like it, that's why we need a remake

the reason is..... she didn't resident evil remake already exists since 2002, but is not well known, also it was released in hd for modern plataforms but even in that way is not well known, but being honest, that remake has more to do with RE4 than with the modern remake

Im in the camp that says the re1 remake still holds. However, having the trilogy all be in the same over the shoulder style would be nice. Its not like it takes away from the original, especially with there being a bunch of ports readily available

As an old zelda fan that hasnt gotten into the meat of BOTW or TOTK, i love the timeline for the most part. The only difference id want in the main timeline being the downfall timeline being an offshoot of Minish Cap rather then OoT. Minish Cap also had multiple endings, and i think it deserves the same "split timeline love" that OoT gets. I also think it makes four swords adventure fit better, as well as aesthetic choices with Ganon since that would make him a completely different Ganon. Id love to hear your take on it of you ever did a video on it. This one was excellent and very well made

If by “Misunderstood” you mean pointless, doesn’t make sense, and they only made it so they could sell you on the Zelda Hystoria, I agree. I mean, Aonuma came out recently and stated that, when they make a new Zelda game, they never take into consideration the story, it’s always been the gameplay, and the new gimmick of that said game. It’s pretty obvious besides some sequels like Ocarina and MM for example, that each game you play as a different Link, probably a descendant, which also contains a different Zelda and Ganon. I love the lore of these games, but it’s pretty clear that Nintendo doesn’t care and believe in the timeline.

I remember being so excited when we got the first totk trailer and I saw Ganondorf and that wound in his chest. I had so much fun speculating about how botw and totk came after TP. I hypothesized that Ganondorf had actually been kept (barely) alive at the end of TP and sealed away in order to prevent the curse of Demise from being reborn, and that the outbreaks of Calamity Ganon were a result of the seal gradually weakening. I mean, why else would Ganondorf be here now? Why would they lean so heavily on this imagery of him if we weren't supposed to make a connection to other games? Thus, I was extremely let down when I played totk and I discovered that it wasn't connected to the other games at all, and the continuity was essentially being rebooted. I understand some others don't feel as strongly as I do, but I grew up with this series and being able to make connections between the games has been important for me because with every game I feel like I can step into a familiar world that has been with me for a long time, which is comforting in a strange way. I still enjoy the new games for what they are, but without that comfort of stepping into a familiar world, for me it feels like something crucial is missing 😔

That ending segment got me right in the ennui... I was pretty active on Zelda Wiki and the TrueZelda subreddit prior to TotK. Took a pause so I could avoid all spoilers. After playing the game, though, I just mostly didn't go back. I'm not done with Zelda, by a longshot, but I distinctly remember points during the game that I felt deflated. I remember all the discussions about BotW trying to narrow down a placement: how this Ganon was once a Gerudo, he was stopped by a hero, a princess, and sages Nabooru of the Gerudo and Ruto of the Zora. That's OoT! But no, there was a separate Imprisoning War. So it must be a different Nabooru, Ruto, and hero. I mean, I'm fine with the "Hyrule refounding," ultimately, and I'll still theorize. But instead of a new clue coming along to recontextualize what we knew, it was instead the reveal "those clues were fake, try again." Luckily, it doesn't feel so much like Echoes of Wisdom was doing that same thing!

One thing that I didn't like but accepted with time was the retcon between Zelda Oracles and Link's Awakening. I liked to believe that this was the same Link that did all of those 4 games (ALTTP, OoA, OoS and LA), but since there's a Zelda that doesn't recognizes him, with a totally different design, I learned to accept that ALTTP Link was only also in LA, and that the Oracles Link was another Link. I feel like BotW was supposed to be in the Downfall Timeline, far far after all of those events. And then I also realized that it would have been cool to also let it have its own timeline. But TotK's backstory was just badly written. Giving prologues a lot of questions is what Skyward Sword did. It felt weird in SS, but in TotK, it was even worst, since we won't have the possibilities to explore more about these games. It's just not questions, it's disappointing answers. And tons of things like references to the sages were retconned once again. The 8th heroine, was a great example. It felt forced to have a story, even disappointing, instead of just having theories.

The Zelda Encyclopedia changes the placement of the Oracle games, as Link doesn’t know Zelda in those games, and even says the Timeline could change at any time. They also said it’s more a suggestion and still up to the player. I stand by there indeed being direct sequels, but that there’s multiple canons.
@red20753
@red20753 Ай бұрын
The timeline could change at any time, of course. Nintendo can do whatever they want with the franchise. It doesn't change the fact that it has mostly remained the same for almost 40 years and the Oracle Games, as good as they are, still are just third-party games not really relevant to the lore They just added that it's "up to they player" because they are tired of people complaining about it What exactly do you mean by "multiple canons"?

This is a great video, and by no means do I wish for this to come off as hate toward this creator, Zeltik, or anyone else who is dour about the state of the timeliness post TOTK. But man, I can't believe the effort put forth on videos complaining about the lack of lore connections in TOTK, but literally, like 0 effort is being put into finding connections. Like, literally, instead of complaining, GO THEORISE. I have played through the main story once and already have theories about the possible time loop in the timeline created by sending Zelda the master sword in a time before. What if that's how the Goddess Sword was created? The Goddess sword looks a whole lot like Zonai tech, and its game of origin has the same creative writers behind its story. What if the past in TOTK is before Demise reveals himself in Skyward Sword? What if Ganondorf in TOTK not having a Ganon (beast) form is because he comes from a time before Demise? Then that explains why, after being sealed under the castle, his Ganon (Beast) form manifested as Calamity Ganon.

FINALLY!!! SOMEONE WHO SAYS IT! The timeline has always been as it is now! The games are in the exact order I expected, and they match the timeline shown if you bothered to read the booklet that came with the games. The only unexpected part was the downfall timeline. However, if you view the 'Hero is defeated' timeline as the main timeline, and Link’s wish in ALttP creates the other two, it all, somewhat, makes sense. As for BotW and TotK, I think it's set after Hyrule has reemerged from the sea (or some destruction of sorts - which is not mentionned) in the far future. Aonuma and Fubayashi mentionned something like that recently (Destruction and refoundation). Even Rauru and Sonia hints that in-game. Look it up!

Here's a valid reason why There Is No Zelda Timeline! The reason there is no timeline is due to the fact that the Zelda Community relied too much on Faulty Evidences. Such as Music, Items That Look Similar, Easter Eggs, References, and Interviews. But the real reason there is no timeline is due to the fact that there are no In-Universe Confirmations. And In-Universe Confirmation is much more reliable than Statements because it actually proves to be true. The statement from the Creator of X-Franchise will fall flat becaus if they wanted a certain fact to be canon, they should have included it in the work to begin with to be confirmed be canon, and not just make a statement because In-Universe refers to things that are true inside the Fictional Story. For example is Rainbow Dash and Applejack from My Little Pony are in a relationship? No! because it was never show during the show, or in Canon Comics, or Novel. Is Rivet from Ratcher and Clank actually a lesbian? We do not know because it was never show, or confirme in Canon Comics, or Novels. Statements are the kind of sentences that are either true or false. As such it is important to actually shows to back up or refute arguments to shows the person what you mean and why you are right. This is the whole argument of Show, Don't Tell! So if the Creator of X-Franchise wanted a certain fact to be canon from Characterls Feasts, Sexuality, Relationships, or pretty much anything, they should have included it in the work to begin with. No amount of Statements from anyone will convince people specially me that something it's canon unless, they included it in the work to begin with. In Other Word! Show, Don't Tell! So if Nintendo really, really wanted something to be canon in the Zelda Series or any series they are working on it from Zelda Timeline to Samus Aran been Transgender. They should have included it in In-Universe Lore in the first place, and not relied on a Book that all its does is Copy and Paste Theories from "Fans" who arw Basement-Dwellers. So No! The Zelda Timeline doesn't exist because it was not confirme In-Universe. 😏😎
