It would have cost minimum 2k for a new engine and 4K labour for removing the engine currently in the vehicle and then putting a new one in and connecting everything. Simply was not worth fixing a 25 year old car that regularly has issues with other body parts.

Way to go! I lived in a car voluntarily few years back, and while its plausible van is definitely the better way. Its always a tough decision on whether to choose space or accessibility, and most people choose space. But going for accessibility like you did here, allows you to move for freely, and isn't that the whole point of living in a van?

Once everything in your van gets cold, its harder to earm up. Start the vans heater and a small mr.buddy heater at ot around the same time. That way when all warms your heater doesnt have to do so much. It helps. In morning, do once more to keep warm for the day. Below 10-11 i no nothing about that cold ❄️ cold. Shew wee thats cold, 30 -.
