A truly fitting elegy for a franchise unlike any other. The spirits of the Eternal Champion, the Agent, the Nerevarine, the Champion of Cyrodiil, the Last Dragonborn, and the Vestige are all so present in this piece. Very well done!

Nice to hear someone throw Arena and Daggerfall a bone. :) Those two have a lot in common with each other, but very little with the themes Soule wrote. Too bad too, they're quite gorgeous pieces, especially Daggerfall.

Hey chillyaiff, great work on the music. Just a small note, I think would work even better if the melody around 0:40-0:51 is a little less busy. So many things going on there and some clash with each other. Other than that it's great.

the skyrim theme is just the musical equivilent of "if I talk louder that means I'm more intelligent". Also this whole video is just noise, it's not even music at this point, sorry but these meshups are always just bs made by people who want to seem like they know anything about music when they don't
@chillyaiff11 ай бұрын
I do agree, the skyrim theme truly is one of the most “tired” ones out there, I recall another channel that routinely used it. Call it what you like, you clearly click on these, but I don’t think mashups are indicative of one’s musical ability at all, but they’re fun

Thing is Elder Scrolls isn't really that kind of series. Every game has it's own story, if we where going to get a Finale it would be Oblivian, as every mainine game that took place up to that point had been under the reign of Urial Semptim. Who dies at the start of Oblivion.

I cried. The buildup was perfect, and the swelling of the music brought my soul into Aetherius. Adding Blades' theme was great, and then your use from the original version's music at 2:54, until the climax at 3:08 with its own twist from the original? My God, man, this was truly incredible. I felt my emotion building through the song, and even knowing that part was coming, it still felt as if the 12,000 hours (yes, 12,000+) I've played in Skyrim played out before me in just an instant. Perfection itself. And, of course, the Elder Scrolls VI piece at the end reminded me that it's coming. God bless you, sir!

I can't tell which one I like better, this one, or the older one. I think I like both equally, as different songs. Whenever I think of Oblivion's theme and Skyrim's theme (I haven't played Morrowind in ages and never played Arena or Daggerfall, and barely started Online, who's theme is normally too quiet to hear), I like to imagine that they are the same song, but it has changed across the eras, and across the world into different versions, like a legendary song. The Nords of Skyrim used it as the Dovhakiin's song, in Cyrodiil, that same tune became the song of the Emperors, maybe at the same time. It had been changed to reflect each province, and even each era. Take the songs Sovngarde and Dragonborn for example. Sovngarde could have very well been the first rendition of Skyrim's version of the song, when the first Dragonborn lived. It was a song of respect for someone who was living at the time and/or just died. After the passing of many eras, the first Dragonborn became an amazing tale of heroism and triumph, and the current song, Dragonborn, reflects that. To me, all the songs together feels like the true Song of Tamriel, a composition of every great legend. Even this true song will change, though. I don't know which one reflects this better!!!!!
@chillyaiff Жыл бұрын
I honestly can’t listen to the old one without thinking “there’s so much missing” after spending lots of time on this one lol, and I almost added a Sovngarde section in this version, but settled for bits here and there

First there was Oblivion's theme song, so much more roaring and fierce than Morrowind's, it announced a very different athmosphere, and greater scale for the game, and I was extatic because I loved Morrowind but I didn't want TES 4 to be Morrowind 2, I wanted it to do it's own thing and that was a great thing. Seeing the Oblivion gates for the first time in the trailers made them seem so intimidating and daunting, and I suppose that was the whole point. So when I first saw skyrim's trailer, I was completely enthralled, honestly, by that point I knew so much lore and had played a bunch of ther spin-offs and older entries like Daggerfall, to see a TES game with such photorealistic trailer was amazing. The theme itself was captivating, it was like Oblivion but going even further, now it even had chanting, and just like Oblivion before, I felt like the game was going to be it's own thing and not Oblivion 2, the tone seemed more solemn and somewhat sinister, and since it was set 200 years after oblivion, we were wondering what sort of cataclysmic BS could have happened in the meantime, some of use speculated about a glacial era, invasion from Akavir or even Atmora, lol. Theories were going wild, especially since by then Alduin and Thu'um were already established lore, so seeing all those hints and signs in the trailers drove us all old fans wild. We assumed the narrator was a Tongue though, but in the end it's the voice of Esbern, ah well. It was stll a great time of hype and hope.
