The folio editions seem to be the best budget deluxe editions for the first Dune Trilogy. Centipede Press is nice, but I hate the finger marks I leave on the slipcase just by touching it. It looks great but it was not designed for reading in mind.

Call me crazy but for me, the standard/regular edition is more beautiful. At least when it comes to the covers 😂 I'm not a fan of the blue&red combination.

4000£ in the UK this in the used market as it’s all sold. You are INCREDIBLY blessed and cursed at the same time to have received it in this situation and this edition.

Copies of this are selling on ebay for over $5,000. If I suddenly found myself in possession of one of these I'd sell it for a nice profit.

I couldn't help myself.. I missed the boat on the $1500 launch price... picked it up on eBay in mint condition for $3400... some are asking as much as $5400 at ABE. .. and I swear if I hear one more mention of "the leather: .we get it, you hate leather .. too bad for thousands of years books and leather have been a thing.

I want these so bad... you have no idea how lucky you are to inherit these from your best friend. That is an incredible person. I have to pay double over the price to get these. Hopefully one day I will. But I can't afford it at all right now, and I'm a huge Tolkien fan.

I like centipede press but only buy paperbacks on principle that books are meant for reading. And while hardbacks are great for displaying, they aren’t built for reading, not any more anyway. If you can’t squeeze it into your coat pocket for a spot of lunch time reading it’s not worth the time of day to even think about buying it.
