I don't agree with drone usage for this. Not sure about other places, but illegal to fly one for this purpose over Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park.

6:45 Krispy Kreme and the legendary Hot Doughnuts Now neon sign are as much a part of Gainesville and UF as Florida Field. I recognized many of the places you displayed before you put the graphic on identifying them so I don't feel too old but damn, Gainesville is all grown up now! I was at UF from Fall 1994 to graduation in Fall 1996. Lived in Gainesville from End 1997 through 2002, save for six awful months in Savannah. Of course I've been back for games several times but haven't been back since I passed through in 2014 leaving the state for good. As a kid we went up a couple times a year for football games (starting in 1976). My dad is a UF alum (1954) and when I started there in 1994 he said the campus is largely unrecognizable. So much had changed and much was new. Now I can say I know that feeling as I didn't recognize Univ. Ave and 13th St on the NW corner. I knew the old buildings had been torn down but last time I was there it was still a field. Now it has apartments/condos on it. But through all of the changes the University of Florida's architectural style of red brick has maintained and makes UF one of the most beautiful college campuses in America. Thanks for making this video!

I graduated from GHS in 1952 . My dad taught English in Anderson Hall. I went to school to UVa through medical school (Fla didn't have that school then), but I've never lost my love for Alachua County and the old court house downtown. Some of my high school friends are still alive there, and I remember all of the gator growls.

Hi, this drone footage is amazing! I can't find a way to message you, but I wanted to ask for your permission to use the drone clips over the stadium and over Paynes Prairie for my own video for youtube and instagram that is not-for-profit. I would give you credit for your clips under it. Message me if this is ok, thank you!

I know this is old but for stuff like this, do you have good live feed the entire time? I am looking to pick up a used phantom 3 advanced, and quality live video at range is what I need the most. I want it for checking fences, and status of animals on our small farm. From the back of our porch I need to get about 250 meters in two directions to cover our entire property. Would this be a good drone for that? I want live video, seeing great hd footage after the fact is nice, but not really that necessary for us, we want to just know if we have newborns in the fields and if we have any damage to deal with. Huge thanks to anyone still looking at these comments who may know!

Sorry for the late response. Uou might have already found your answer but the Dji phantom 3 is a live feed. I only look at the live feed when I fly it out of line of sight. Hope you found what your looking for .

Thanks for the video Mr. Silentmind. I bought this Phantom for my grandson, along with a very similar range extender. We never tested the range, but it's nice to know what to expect. We have a very long shoreline here in Racine Wisconsin right on Lake Michigan. I've flown my Phantom 4 there a lot of times, and am looking forward to testing the range on his Advanced. Very informative! Thanks.

Unfortunately particular parts/areas of Gainesville are slowly developing or not at all, because it is last on the todem pole, ignored, and not seen as valuable. It is really the forgotten land.

Yeah I've been to A Lot of sites in natural FL, the Suwannee, santa fe, peace river, myakka, corkscrew swamp, Ichetucknee, central Fl Withlacoochee near rainbow river, some of the best east & west coast beaches, O'leno, etc. But this mystical place is right up there with all the best of them. And I'm more of a rivers guy than just swamp/ lake/ easy slow life kind of naturalist hah

Hey there! My name is Victoria Dickson and I work with documentary filmmaker Boaz Dvir. We’re in need of some footage of Gainesville, FL (particularly the campus and, more importantly, East Gainesville) for a film we’re working on now. I came across your footage online and was curious if you’d be willing to share it with us in the making of this film. Compensation is available. Thanks very much! Victoria
