Broadcast red clover. They drop fawns in red clover Make hay if you want
@ontargetadventures49406 сағат бұрын
Clover would be a good choice. One thing to consider is do we want the deer spending all the time eating on the trail or just have them use the trail to get to the destination, food plot or stand set up areas.

Why do you have the back end facing the turkey?
@ontargetadventures49402 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. They seem to circle around towards you one way or the other to get a peek. If it were facing you they would probably expect to see a head also and it's not realistic then. Someone told me that a while back and they are correct. They almost always come in closer and circle around one way or the other to check it out. Plus I don't want to carry around a half turkey reaper decoy on public land also. I don't want any red or anything that resembles a turkey head for safety reasons on public land as well. So by just having the fan it's super light, safer in my opinion, and very effective. I think it actually gets some of them mad that they aren't turning around to look at them.
@Quintin-cs4oi2 ай бұрын
@@ontargetadventures4940 makes sense, do you think one with a head and possibly some breast feathers would work ?
@tomnolan21862 ай бұрын
Absolutely! The more realistic the better! I just hunt all public land so I don't want to be sneaking around with one that looks too realistic. I don't want to get accidentally shot by another hunter. But if you have private land or know no one will be around the more realistic the better! Thanks for watching. If you go to our channel on our regular videos we have a more detailed video on how I use it

That's an extra 250 dollars for less to stand on, a 3 pound weight difference, paying more for 3 pounds less material in cast platform is as stupid as it sounds. Competitive pricing should have it 30.00 cheaper than the vanish, not more 🤦
@ontargetadventures49402 ай бұрын
I totally see your point. It is noticably lighter though. 30 percent lighter. I guess it's what you prefer. But the vanish is a great stand for sure. I like both. Thanks for watching
@karmas.busdriver2 ай бұрын
@@ontargetadventures4940 I like your review, but 3 pounds lighter, with less platform for an additional 250, I'm a mobile public hunter, I can buy 2 xop vanish for 10 cheaper than one cold world. That's way beyond deal breaker.

So I usually rub in borax to the flesh and let it sit for 3-6 weeks. But check periodically and you might have to reapply the borax again if it's not full dry. Thanks for watching

Hey thanks for the feedback! You’re exactly right; it was a great experience. It’s worth mentioning that your results will greatly vary based on whether or not you are hunting a major migratory flyway. Outside of that, local birds are obviously fewer and more wary.

Why the daisy chain instead of a cam cleat?
@ontargetadventures49406 ай бұрын
So the daisy chain I thought was quieter and its rated for like 4-500 lbs whereas the cam cleat was rated for less and some people said they were a little noisy?? Never used a cam cleat but just going off what others said. Once you pull up your stick the daisy chain is very easy to get off. Now using the XOP cold World hang on and one XOP X2 stick. Awesome set up. I'll be doing another full review this spring. Thanks for watching and subscribing! Tom

@ontargetadventures4940 seen a trick for the cam cleat if you put a piece of 550 tied around it where the jaws meet it quiets it down. I'm using it cause just my initial thoughts the chain wanted to slip when I put weight into it

I got mine new on sale for 180. I originally bought it from XOP, then saw it was on sale some other place and they matched the price. Depends on how used it is. And how many times it's been used. Maybe 120-150 if it's in good shape but less money the more it's been used. If at all possible I'd buy new if you can. Thanks for watching

I have the jx3 hybrid pretty much does this but with you facing the tree. But i wanted to 1 stick originally. Too hard to use and 1 stick up so now i am considering purchasing an inexpensive saddle to 1 stick up and use the jx3 to hunt out of because its so comfortable. This confirms that im not the only 1 who puts comfort as a must when hunting. And that is my plan going forward. I would encourage you to take a look at the jx3. Thanks for the video!
@ontargetadventures49407 ай бұрын
I've heard really good things about the jx3. Maybe in the future I'll try it. But for now I'm pretty content with this system. I have switched to the xop cold world hang on stand and then I just run the xop X2 stick for one sticking. So total weight is down to 15 lb. Thanks for watching
@dustinhamilton78867 ай бұрын
If you will get rid of that platform and swing off to the side a little to move stick i belive ot might help you. How i do it. But an old muddy pro stick with a cam cleat converted to a one stick with ewo stwps and stand offs is amazing. Then you could have a stick thays lighter and more user friendly with your stand and one to run with the saddle. Just my opinion though.
@ontargetadventures49407 ай бұрын
I have switched to the xop cold world hang on stand which is only 7 and 1/2 lb. And I've also switched to using one xop X2 stick which is a pound and a half. So total weight is down to 15 lb. I have tried swinging to the side and that works good as well! Thanks for watching

At time of this video it was my second season doing this. And it truely is the best of both worlds. My first year was with the m7 micro lite. But didnt like that it had no leveling capabilities. My second season was with novix helo. It was ok. Now i use lwcg 1.0. Its best so far. I replaced my saddle with the tactisasddle harness though. And i replaced my quicklink/ notch quickie with a running bowline. Imo the running bowline is way to go and get rid of metal components to girth around the tree. Glad to see this is catching on after suggesting it on fb and other youtube videos.
@ontargetadventures49407 ай бұрын
I really like this system as well and am planning on sticking with it. I'm now using the xop cold world stand which has five adjustments for leveling the platform. I'll have to look into the running bowline. I've heard of it but can't picture it right now. I'll have to look that up. With a bigger platform I find myself more comfortable and able to do all day sits easily. Love the rappelling down afterwards as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts

The Cold World looks like a nice stand and 15 total pounds is pretty good.
@ontargetadventures49407 ай бұрын
It's been really good. With how lightweight stands are now they are getting just a few pounds heavier than saddle platforms! For me that 4 extra pounds is worth carrying to be able to hunt off a full size platform! Thanks for watching

So I do not use that system to climb now. I one stick up the tree with one XOP X2 stick. Then hunt from a XOP Cold world hang on stand. But stay in my saddle , then rappel down after. Kind of a hybrid system. I like being able to use as a traditional hang on or saddle. I did a video on my hybrid system not too long ago. But now I'm using different equipment. This off-season I'll do another update video on my latest system.
