I have a question regarding synthetic loc extensions. Im doing micro/mini twists with xpressions twisted up hair but im doing a knotless braid method at the top then adding the hair towards the bottom and twisting down. As time going on will my hair be able to loc up and i can trim the extention hair off when it becomes the length i like? Also, i just wanted to know if this sounded like a good method to you. Thank you 😊
@mamaurf23 күн бұрын
hey girlie! i personally wouldn’t go with the knotless method since it’s pretty permanent.it braids in your natural hair from root to tip, so you’d probably have to cut it once your hair is loc’d. it'd start to look very different in comparison to your locs vs the extension. my method only uses like one or two inches of natural hair and i was cool with letting that go if needed. plus it was temporary and super easy to take out, so you can remove the extensions and still keep those 2 inches if you really wanted to!✨✨

Good morning Kia, that is a cute sweater ( the black and white one) couldn’t you get one of those fabric shavers. I used to get lint balls all over my uniforms as they got older, so I got one of those lint shavers that did the trick, so you don’t have get rid of the sweater you like.

This camera quality is SO clean! You hit some vital points that really can speak to every creative. I always remind myself to not be so shy when it comes to representing my talent and my art because you HAVE present as proud of yourself and what you create in this world. In my life, I know the pain I put in to learn the ins and outs of my work and in the past I had this expectation that people would recognize my talent no matter what, but thats far from the truth. You gotta be your biggest advocate if youve got dreams you HAVE to make a reality. You dont strike me as a shy person but people also say the same thing about me so if anyone else out there is struggling living louder and prouder, my 2 cents is to do just that. Authenticity is success!

Hey Kia, you doing another New Yorker tradition. My mom had so many houseplants in our apartment my aunt(from the country where we came from) said the only reason we were so healthy in New York was that we made our own oxygen 😅. I hope your plant collection flourishes, so they can clean that NYC air.

your photos came out great but here's a background tip, use ai generative fill in photoshop, you can tell it to erase things out of your background or even change your background location, it's truly amazing and would make editing easier for you!

Came back here to say I’ve installed my first couple synthetic locs (interlocked) the other day in my spare time and so far I’m loving them 🥲 Curled some kanekalon hair while waiting on my kinky hair. Blended color 1 and 2 to make it look more like my own hair, soaked in vinegar, then baking soda to remove some shine, fabric softener and oiled them for easier handling and the results are impressive. They literally look like human hair, can’t tell where the extension begins. I’ve already gotten some compliments from my loc’d relatives. Only downside being that the hair tangled more easily than human hair and had some grip due to being braiding hair, interlocking with a crochet hook felt more difficult than using human hair but got significantly easier as I went on, it’s not objectively harder than working with human hair, but different. Making long locs ended up taking much less due to it being more consistent in length compared to the human hair I’d normally use (which would require me to manually remove some hair and add longer strands) Oil helped a lot with minimizing resistance and didn’t make the hair feel oily at all, there’s none left now. You’ve definitely changed the game for me, bless you 🥹🖤

I’ve just gotten 870 grams of Marley hair for 10€ after watching your vids, I’ll be starting to make the locs next week when it’s delivered. Wish I’d stumbled into you much earlier, it’s been two days and i can’t get over the amount of money I’d spent on human hair 💀 + the dye to make them uniform as they’d contain red and white hair, the time wasted on taking out the lint they’d come with. Oh just bless you, I’m just happy I got to see your great hair before spending yet more money on yet more human hair 😂
