Gardiner, Maine is LOUD Town. The people of Maine have no Constitutional rights at all. When I bought my house in Gardiner the City employees illegally installed surveillance equipment in my house (no warrant and no probable cause). There are five directional speakers aimed at my house in addition to seven LOUD speakers. There is surveillance cameras and speakers across the whole of LOUD Town. Town employees of Gardiner let any criminal across the USA and world stalk the residents and broadcast acrossLOUD Town. Police in Maine lost their taxing authority two years with the abolishing of civil asset forfeiture. The Town of Gardiner holds virtual meetings by broadcasting them into my house 24/7 and listening in on the illegal listening in equipment a clear violation of the open meetings act of Maine. Somehow the people of Maine think not having any Constitutional rights is okay with them. I was a defense contractor for 25 years, have no criminal history and my son-in-law is both USMC military and civil police and my son is USMC. Yet, the Town of Gardiner has virtual meetings by broadcasting them into my house 24/7 and I have repeatedly demanded they stop virtual meetings by broadcasting them into my house in LOUD Town.

The1st & most important step to pick up a kayak is simply don't buy one made of PE. Maybe go for thermoplastic, GRP, cedar strip, plywood, CF, Kevlar or skin on frame, but definitely not PE. Humour aside, great video, well done.👍

Thanks! This was excellent. Just bought a LiquidLogic Saluda, because I'm 74 years old and needed a light kayak. Even at 43 lbs it was still a problem for me to get it up on my shoulder. Your video took care of that problem! 👍

We in the whitewater backpacking community will haul a boat for miles up steep, rocky, slippery mountain trails to get to steep vertical creeks. Wish it were just as easy as hauling the boat across the parking lot. But flatwater and waterside parking lots are what gets the masses accessible to the outdoor paddling environment, and that's what unites us all in the aquatic community. As a rolling instructor at our town's community center, I welcomed all boaters, flatwater or whitewater, regardless.

That means dragging the bottom of the boat against your legs and stomach.... When my clothes are clean and dry, and the bottom of the boat is covered in wet sand or mud, I'd rather heave it straight onto my shoulders upside down. I'm not recommending it to anyone else though, if you hurt your back or shoulders doing it don't blame me!

I use a similar technique, but once the boat is at the mid way point, I use my front thigh as a fullcrum/lifter. This takes a lot of the strain away. Also, if you are in the water use the water depth to lessen the first step strain.
@markb2396
@markb2396 2 жыл бұрын
Same here, the method demonstrated can cause a strain on hand, wrist, shoulder. I’m always just trying to get the shoulder under the kayak rather than lifting kayak up to shoulder. Subtle but crucial difference .
