Honestly season 4 didn't do much for me. Half the cast was missing and it all just felt like one big farewell/graduate season, which it was, but without feeling like it had any real substance aside from that. It felt like something that could've been an extra 5 episode send-off tagged onto season 3. I found the villain forgettable and I didn't see nearly enough of Yubel.

I played the tag force one on the ps2. The first one. I spent so much time making many many decks. Completed the game with all characters on page 1 and i think page 2. After that i started unlocking secret characters and beatng the game with them. After that i started tagging with random extra students and building decks to be able to win with them as partner.

I actually just finished creating my own archetype, Dragon Knight's. Basically it's composed entirely of Warriors and Dragons that have effects that are specifically meant to search, power up, or revive each other. Extra Deck monsters are 4 XYZ monsters (Ranks 4, 6, 7, and 8) and 4 Fusions (2 lvl 8 and 2 lvl 9) but there's also plenty of powerful Main Deck monsters too. I wanted this to be an archetype that certainly has powerful Extra Deck monsters but your deck isn't reliant on them to win, if you're opponent were to lock you out of your Extra Deck you would still have plenty of options for setting up your win condition. The Dragon Fusions are all meant to be summoned with the in archetype fusion spell "Dragon Knight Fusion" which if you're using at least one monster from the "Dragon Knight" archetype you can fuse using monsters from the deck as well as your hand and field, this way it can't be abused like Fusion Destiny or Branded Fusion. If these monsters are summoned with Dragon Knight Fusion they all get additional effects like returning cards on the field to the deck or negating all of your opponents face up cards effects. The inspiration for this archetype is loosely based on a story idea I've been playing with since high school, though it's changed a lot in that time.

I would replace these 10 Johto filler episodes to focus on Ethan as the secondary rival: Ep122 (Bellossom), EP135 (Sunflora), Ep148 (Wooper), EP164 (Pidgey), EP172 (Ledian) EP197 (Smeargle), EP218 (Diglett), EP234 (Xatu), EP260 (Slowking) and EP267 (Vincent) Episodes focused on Silver/Team Rocket could've been 2-parters which would replace these ones: EP132-133 (Marill and Sentret). These 2 are between Ash defeating Falkner and leaving Charizard. EP177-178 (Yanma/Skiploom), EP202-203 (Natu/Smoochum) and EP243-244 (Igglybuff/Slowpoke). Give Marina a 3-parter focused special right after Ecrutreak: EP184-186 (Murkrow, Remoraid, Teddiursa). Replace other episodes for Casey and Gary and make these 5 rivals + main trio all present at Whirl Cup. The goal here is to treat Ethan as Barry whose cameos are more spaced out but still welcoming to watch.

Sacred Cards was my favorite Yu-gi-oh game growing up because it was the only one I played that allowed me to play my own character and actually have a world to explore and interact with. I'm just now learning there are so many more. Reshef of Destruction, the 5DS DS trilogy, as well as the Tag Force games and a couple others. You covered these in just the perfect amount of depth and I actually *really* want to try these now despite only having seen a few episodes of GX as a kid. These games really seem to have everything I could want out of a Yugioh game!

I had this game for the wii at one point, I got it on ds a few years ago and I still love it. My one problem with it (which isn't really a problem to begin with) is that you couldn't pick your gender and were locked to being a boy. As a girl who loves Bakugan, I was really annoyed as a kid and had to settle for making my character as feminine looking as possible. I even had lore that my character was secretly a girl but came up with this whole alter ego to hide her identity for some reason.

For what it's worth: 4 Kids Entertainment made a big mistake in wrapping up the English Dub version upon Season 3. It practically left american audiences in a depressing cliffhanger. When Yu-Gi-Oh released Bonds Beyond Time, there was a sense of excitement to see Jaden and Yusei teaming up with Yugi, and yet not much resolve came from Jaden in terms of making peace with his loved ones. At least the Season 4 Sub still kept it. 🥲

Theres still such a special place in my heart for both misaki and toru The little family you have with them made them some of my fondest memories across all of yugioh media

I don't remember being able to play as anything other than a guy in Tag Force 3 though. But yeah, Blair's route was my favorite. It also helps that she plays an actual good deck, because the AI in this game is... Subpar compared to other games in the franchise

BLAIR NEVER DESERVED HATE TO BEGIN WITH. People are stupid to hate her. Dislike her, fine, but it's outrageous to hate a character who was written for a one-off episode that then came back as a very minor character. Like, why hate a character who isn't even very intrusive on the narrative? P.S. My main Yugioh game has been just Zexal WDC. Fun enough as a simulator (usual bad AI), the localization-gutted story routes are mildly interesting and have some really bonkers bits.

The Zexal: World Duel Carnival game is pretty bad as far as things go, especially with all the character routes that got cut out in the localization, but it has little pieces that make for great fanfic fuel. Seriously, Brooke's throwaway line in the "Red Hat"/Player storyline about you being "a Legendary Duelist who rebuilt a whole town...and once saved the world from destruction!" merged with the Wikipedia summary of Dracula Untold (a movie which for some reason paints the Ottomans as the barbarians including doing the exact things that Vlad himself did, when in fact the Ottomans fought to stop his slaughters; I'd apologize for the mini-rant but it's necessary context) to create the idea of an OC wandering the earth for millennia after merging with the spirit of a Duel Monster trapped on Earth (I was still working out how the spirit got trapped on Earth). I know that sounds random but I swear that's how I got the idea. I am tempted to see about getting a used copy of Over the Nexus.

If there's one problem I have with this game it's how it ends. It just stops after the duel with team new world which is so odd because it makes me question what Z-one is doing. Heck they don't even bother to give proper explanation for, Misaki's secret. It basically ends like the dub of 5D's and makes the ending so jarring to me.

I still have my copy of WC 2011 to this very day, and it still works. I think Over the Nexus is by far the best game of the series outside of just having the most cards. A main problem with the older games was how hard it was to get cards and to flesh out your deck. When you start the game, your starting deck comes with Mega-Hamster and Ryko, a core combo in the fabled Edison format, and you get Monarchs, too. You also get way more packs and even Structure Decks to buy throughout the story, thus giving you more to work with. I still come back to this day due to how the TCG is... It is a perfect representation of when Yugioh was at its peak. Good back and forth chess and no boring negate fests.

Chazz probably deserves more praise. He is one of few characters in the first two seasons of GX and has to see the greatest sum-total of duel spirits. In his first duel against Jaden, he capitalizes on countering his opponent's strategy using cards like Chthonian polymer// hell polymer, which is actually funny. Only one pseudo-rival ever tries this, bastion Misawa, instead of using the curse seal of the forbidden spell and instead used this polymer card (I genuinely think Bastion suffers from severe tunnel vision) would have won the duel with the final remaining card in Jaden hand being an unusable bubble blaster just an interesting tidbit of that duel I always thought was fascinating.

Don't ever ask what Sherry LeBlanc did to the character on Tag Force 6

I think they should have allowed Aster to win against Sartorius. He would then get possessed by the Light, have his tiebreaker with Jaden, lose, and the Light would jump at Jaden, trying to possess him too, but it dies inside him, foreshadowing that he is the wielder of the Gentle Darkness
