Glad to see your video pop-up on my feed! I love your approach to teaching these chords. I’ve been looking for ways to get students started playing voicings who do not have much chord or scale knowledge, and I think your trick about how to find a major seventh or minor seventh is super helpful. When I was learning how to build these voicings, I already knew all my major scales and key signatures so it was easy for me to figure out the chord shapes. I am recommending this channel to my students and going to use some of your method in my lessons. Thanks! 🎉

Great video, keeping it simple, one chord voicing in all keys. Much easier to remember the lessons this way and can then use it in songs and progressions. Would love more lessons this way rather than more complex progressions. One chord voicing a week would soon add up into a big vocabulary that could then be combined.

Dean, great feedback. what I think we’re going to do is to use this loop to learn all the voicing, but over a month. I’m going to do a follow-up video on the lesson from today and do one cord, the next one on the list. Great feedback.

I have really had to work at these chords (the i-iv-VI-V) more than I anticipated. It seems like they should be a snap for me by now, but I go to another key and have to think it through again. But I know pathways are being laid down in the ol' noodle.
