@@row759 ... No, Paula was not there. She was edited in for this Rewind segment. In the original unedited audition she is nowhere to be found. If you want proof you'll notice in this clip Paula asks Carrie what she's going to sing. In the longer unedited clip Randy asked her what she's going to sing. Why would they both ask her what she's going to sing? Paula was not there and if Carrie says differently she is probably referring to something else

Carrie is a rarity. Carrie won Idol right there. That is how good Carrie is. Other singers are compared to Carrie. It will be interesting to see how Carrie reacts to contestants singing her songs, now that she is a judge.

I'm glad that real fans who bother to watch her know that she's modest :) She's pretty... so people will instantly think that she's going to be superficial/mean.. NOT TRUE! Also, she is very smart :)

Carrie has been always that modest. Sometimes she can be too modest. Especially about herself.

@@ChristinaTaft What I found interesting is that, when those military personnel did stand up and give Carrie that applause the rest of the audience quickly followed. Like they were embarrassed that military were up and they weren't.

I disagree with you, Carrie easily would top Kelly with no problem. As matter of fact. I think has passed Kelly. Because when you think of American Idol, you think of Carrie, not Kelly.

As Carrie stated, American Idol did something, she couldn't do on her own. Open the door to country music.

@sboudreaux27 Carrie busted the country door wide open, when she won Idol, where as Kelly didn't. Carrie said she was a country singer, even though Idol's record label, Arista wanted her to be a pop. Carrie said country singer and fought for that. Kelly didn't fight for her status as a country singer. Plus Kelly keeps going back and forth.

Carrie embraces being called an American Idol winner, where as Kelly wants nothing with Idol. Carrie broke all the myths country music had about Idol.

As Luke Bryan put it bluntly. Most Idol winners except music producers to coming on their door and the exact opposite happens. Music producers don't want Idol singers, music producers want their own talent. Nashville wanted nothing to do with Carrie. They didn't want a reality singer messing up their system and their control of singers, which they don't have with Carrie. But they didn't want to get Carrie huge fan following mad either. Carrie's fans which number in 20 million area force Nashville to accept Carrie and they did. Which is why she doesn't get more awards than she has from CMAs and ACMs. They are still pissed. She earned the respect of country music veterans which also piss off Nashville music brass. Country music veterans know how she is.

@sboudreaux27 Nope. Carrie proved that, when Mattie and rest of contestants joined on stage for Carrie's song "See You Again". Carrie brought her vocals down as not to embarrass Mattie.
