hm... no big screws, no big drill bits, not serious work in all of this testing; every decent drill can do without problems what you did (even the best 12V drills...). For a drill of this dimensions and weight things get interesting with long 10mm or 12mm screws, 40mm oger bits, 60+mm forstner bits or 80+mm hole saws

Hey, thanks for the feed back! I want to build an ultimate test for all combi drills I test to be put through, and your comment has definitely given me an idea of the kind of things to try, with the 40mm auger bits and 60+mm forstner bits, have you used them with a combi drill before? I just don’t want to do anything that is ridiculous and guaranteed to kill the drill, other wise people will get the impression it’s not a good drill unless it can handle that :/

@@TheToolTart yes, I use them on a regular basis with my Metabo BS 18 LTX BL Q I (horrible name - but great tool…) and it does the job without any problems. For srews of 6mm or smaller and drilling „normal“ holes I have a BS 12 BL Q (12 V drill) which weighs only ~1 kg. Battery tools have improved vastly over the years and are great nowadays!

Not designed for big wood bits, burnt loads of dewalt drilling through the round posts for rope fencing. I doubt even milwaukee could handle to much of that. Just be carefull mate cos you could break your wrist ofp it grabs at high speed.

Hey thanks for watching, I get exactly what you mean they simply arnt designed to handle that kind of job, I think most combi drills can pull off a couple, but like you said none of them can handle a lot of it! And thanks next time I’m going to do it at a Lower level, doing it that high up wasn’t very safe 😂

I don’t know I got to have a shot with both at Screwfix live and if this one can last as long as a Milwaukee then they may be in trouble, 5ah battery’s for £50, and a 5 year warranty, with no need to register, just take it back to screw fix and they will give you a new one

Yeah it’s brushless it still spins just doesn’t work properly and makes a horrible sound, I’m going to take it apart to see the extent of the damage, but just a simple case of using the wrong tool for the wrong job, I highly recommend this drill for day to day use, it’s powerful and has no trouble with the shorter auger bits,

Brilliant, I just bought one and have been looking for compatible nails and gas, as prises can vary quite a bit. I was wondering if there was any negative points to using other brands of gas and nails? Anything to be aware off? This will be for occasional use, no point in buying packs of 4k nails as I some some dealers sell. what about cleaning, might be a good video to show. You should also add " An alternative nail Gun to Paslode" in the title or in the detailed description to improve your search and help people find your video.
@TheToolTart
@TheToolTart 24 күн бұрын
Hi there, thanks for your kind words, tell me about it there is a massive variation in prices, and the issue I had was supply, in local stores, so I took the gamble and tried different ones, I’ve had no issues what so ever using any other brand as long as they are the correct degree and have clipped heads. in regards to the gas the only issue I’ve faced was for some brands the tips were the incorrect size, but like I said in the video I just got round that by swapping the tips over, an interesting thing I noticed the other week was, I was building a frame and when I finished and took the bottle out the date caught my eyes, according to the bottle it was over a year out of date, however I noticed no difference in power when I used it, so I’d test them before throwing them out. And to be honest with you if it’s only for occasional use then just grab your self a 2200 pack or something, they are fairly cheep and just buy fuel cells as and when you need them. You might even be able to find some half used packs on eBay from where people have hired one for a day or two do something and had nails left over. Thanks for the feedback a cleaning video is very good idea as I’m sure there’s a lot of people who would want that! And that’s a great idea, I really appreciate that, I’ll add it in the title today!

Look at the end when he is using it. First of a second hand hold for stability, second a blade guard, finally dude was wearing safety gloves. Finally, but not least important, this is an attachment specifically designed for this job. Not using something that was never designed to be used in the way trying to be used. So chill out all you supposed safety experts.

It's a common tool where im from... It's called a half hatchet or carpenter's hatchet. Normally, a 3.5-inch polished edge for chopping wood or drywall with a hammer head and nail remover. They also have pronounced beards and finger notches to allow a "choked" grip for precise control

Looks like it's bound itself together and intertwined to the lattice. Hedge clippers or, as one said, a chainsaw to cut sections from the top of the fence and remove them in sections. Worry about making it pretty after the massacre. If it's mainly on the other side and you want to kill it all, cutting the base/ roots and use a bit of poison like round up to help speed the dying of it. There's a chance it could be rooted to the fence, depending on the ivy.
@TheToolTart
@TheToolTart Ай бұрын
I managed to get through it with a small pair of cutters, just munched away bit by bit! And cutting the root and using round up is a good idea actually, I will try that, the whole thing is sandwiched between my fence and the neighbours fence, but the bottom is rotted so I pulled the bottom slat of and cut them all at the root, trying to pull them up now 😂😂 just going to put a 6 inch gravel board in to cover the whole afterwards
