Hi Aaron , before you consider a camp site next to water, check out the weather patterns coming out of the Pacific Ocean. Seems like a group of storms approaching Seattle.

The Bodie ghost town state reserve takes the cake, Aaron That is so neat to see all the old technologies and artifacts in the buildings. I’m sure I’d spend a few days there.

I’m reading and KZbin’n 20 mule team borax history in the Mojave / Death Valley area. Interesting. I remember growing up and seeing the commercials and TV shows about it in the’50s.

Great video and great trail! You have a good excuse to get matching bumpers now... How long did it take you start to finish, including filming?
@undertow_overlandАй бұрын
Hah yea the bumper situation is newly forming for me. Thanks man! It took roughly 10 or hour hours total. I spit it into two days and had camped on top of the ridge which made it nice. Second day still was taxing and long but well worth it

ayee brother, currently building out my gX. Legit can't tell what size tire you're on. Please advise. If 34's or 35's, did you re gear? They could just be super aggressive looking 33's idfk help me out lol
@undertow_overland2 ай бұрын
Hey I am on 34s (295/70/17) I didn’t re-gear. It could probably benefit from it but it’s been fine
@b7taylor892 ай бұрын
@@undertow_overland thank you! It looks so good on 34s. This may be the route I’ll go. Did you have to body mount chop & make room for these in the fenders? How high is your lift?
@b7taylor892 ай бұрын
@@undertow_overland also, more importantly, without the re gear, have you noticed much gear hunting? Seems she still climbs super well on the 34s without a re gear. I’m just trying to get the biggest tire without having to re gear ..maybe will re gear to 4.88 & 35s in a couple years, but not wanting to do that quite yet
@undertow_overland2 ай бұрын
Yea I did the bmc but still rub some with compression and turning left however that’s pretty rare. Have continued to hammer in the pinch welds. On the highway it doesn’t seem to hunt for gears that much. It’s quite chill for sure which is awesome
@b7taylor892 ай бұрын
@@undertow_overlandhow high is your lift? I have a 2” ome lift & hoping this will work w 34s.

Dude amazing edit, I'm a Utah native and have never done this route. What time of year was this? I imagine the creek crossings would be impassable at certain times of years. Could an experienced driver in a stock offroad pickup make it fine?
@undertow_overland2 ай бұрын
Thanks so much!! It was just a couple weeks ago in September. Weather was amazing- high of mid 80s and low at night in the 50s or so. Yea with that water level I wouldn’t see any issue w a stock truck on those trails except for the section on fix it pass which had some slightly more technical parts
