Do you have to book your bike on the train? And do you have to pay for the bike?

Thanks for sharing the video :) I'm hoping to do the same trip as well soon. How many hours did this take? Also noticed you had skinny tires on your bike, was it ok cycling with them on dirt / gravel?
@PrasannaRamaswamy2 жыл бұрын
We went at a very relaxed pace. 8 hours in total including a long lunch break. Regarding tyres, the three of us had different thicknesses - 23mm (road bike), 32mm (hybrid) and 40mm (comfort). We all made it 😊

I really loved your videos.. I am from South Africa and an ultra marathon runner and would love to run from Dublin to Galways . How safe would you recomend this route for a solo female ? Would love to hear your thoughts
@PrasannaRamaswamy2 жыл бұрын
The stretch from Dublin to Athlone mostly is along the canal bank. Around the towns and villages there are quite a few people around walking/running etc. But there are also stretches in between which are very quiet and isolated. We did this in summer when sunset is around 10pm, so that also helps I guess.

really enjoyed your three part video for this ride. would you advise going dublin to galway or galway to dublin ? or do you think theres not much difference ?
@PrasannaRamaswamy2 жыл бұрын
Route-wise, there's no difference really. But perhaps have a look at the wind direction forecast for the days you are planning. Most of the time it tends to be windy going west!

Thank you for this video Prasanna, I have just started cycling in Cork and I find it very scary with the cars, but excited to try this route!

Thanks! yes, I must admit it takes a while to process videos! I have short clips from probably all my travels, but I never got around to compiling any of them except this and a couple more :(

How did you mount the camera? How did you click the pictures where you are visible in the frame?
@PrasannaRamaswamy10 жыл бұрын
Chest strap mount! And for the others, I just placed the camera somewhere on the side of the road and then did my 'act' in the frame
