Having a personal connection with Asghar Ghori, he's the sole reason as to how I got my foot into the IT industry. His book is the sole reason as to why I can make my way around Linux in my workplace. Cannot recommend his books enough!

When I started at WGU, after my financial requirements were met, I started with the pre-assessments for the first three terms of the BSCS degree plan, before speaking with my mentor about a consistent study plan. I passed all pre-assessments while not having prior experience in the field, or any field for that matter. Although I passed with exemplary scores, and the mentor was sort of impressed, I do not recommend doing this because those pre-assessments are important for your instructors to gauge where you are after studying the material. Also, the course material is subject to change, and taking the pre-assessment locks you into the course material, even if changes were made to the curriculum.

ZyBooks is boring sure, but the BIGGEST problem is that you're taking an OA, not a performance assessment - which means, you're doing like 60 multiple-choice questions for your test that has NOTHING to do with actually writing SQL, which ZyBooks does. The exercises in ZyBooks are great, and you can typically just play the exercises at 2x speed and get right into the lessons, but again - you won't be writing any actual SQL in the test that matters. It's more important that you learn the language/syntax and terms/definitions than writing code. That will come in another class.

Good stuff! As someone who did a ton of SCIF work, I can attest to not always having access to Google 😂 I remember starting out as a Sys Admin, Google was my crutch but I learned quickly to not rely on it while I was working in classified environments. I don’t do classified work anymore these days so now Google is back to being my go to source for solutions.

I've been in this class for 2 weeks now and got to chapter 4 in the zybooks. I feel like I'm forgetting each section every time I move on to the next topic and the material itself is SOOOO dry!. I'm gonna give your method a try and see if that will get me through. I've got 8 weeks left on this term and this is my last class. I wanted to get it finished with enough time to add 1 extra class in for the term but at the rate D426 is going, I'm gonna be cutting it close I think.
@CyberFranco5 ай бұрын
That is exactly why I dropped out of WGU (for now). My plan is to take some classes on platforms like scholarly and come in with as many credits so as not to have to spend so much money on terms. Calculus was hard but with enough time I couldve passed it! A lot of those classes are meant take up to three months but its not worth going to WGU if a class takes that long!

I've been doing a web development boot camp and I just became interested in going back to school. It's kind of disappointing that all the web dev courses don't include projects I know some of the computer science ones do. Because I honestly think web dev is one of the most marketable skills and lucrative skills you can get from any IT degree
