Hey, it would really be nice if you could explain to me how to start the engine with it because I have one on a new boat I just bought, and I am confused about how to start it. I put the choke on, pulled up the lever on the side of the throttle, and then turned the key, and it started, but then the engine stalls. I don't know if I am starting it wrong or something like that because when I just turn the key, the engine won't start. any help would be appreciated I can't find any resources on it
@mechanicalangler27776 ай бұрын
@@tuckerdupaul4657 It sounds like a fuel issue, either too little or too much. After the engine starts, take the choke off right away. If it stalls again, see if you can get it to start without the choke. If you can’t, it’s fuel delivery which could be impeded by a clogged hose or filter. I would first start on the filter and if that doesn’t work, start following the gas hoses, either from the fuel rail or tank, and work your way to the end, checking if the hoses are clear.

you are a god send. turns out the fuel line was clogged. i appreciate your detailed response.

Hey mate i have the same remote controller that i have pulled apart and cleaned up.But now i have it all back together everything is working well except when i put it in reverse it engages but i have very limited revs and the throttle cable only slightly moves .Can you help me out with any ideas on what i have done wrong.
@mechanicalangler27776 ай бұрын
@@longy509 It may be possible that you changed the linkage length accidentally, or it needs adjustment. I think there’s a way to adjust it at the remote control box, as well as on the outboard after you remove the cowling.

Thank you so much for putting this video up. I have a DT 75 that I’m trying to get working. I had to remove the throttle and totally disassemble it to remove it from the console. I’ve been wondering how I would get it back together.

Just what I needed. I'm trying to rebuild my broken remote from a spare remote using the best parts from both (it's the same as yours) but the mechanical arms are still linked and it's proving difficult to reassemble that way. Can you say how you dismantled the linkages so that you could reassemble as 9:09 ... or if the linkages are still attached, how I might reassemble from that position ... where you say " this little part goes into this hole ..."

We took the remote unit apart as one of the rods had come away from the engine - fixed now - but we're not sure if the adjuster is in the right place or, well, if it needs adjusting....? Thank you so much for this video! I bought a used 1985 Suzuki DT85 and it has same control box! I completely cleaned and greased all components. I purged my linkage cables, throttle and shift with my compressor and a pressure hosed clamped to cables, I put transmission fluid in hose and with compressed air, purged and flushed cables. Now smooth movement in controls and shifting. What a success! Thanks bro!

How do you tie that rig?
@mechanicalangler27774 жыл бұрын
It is basically the standard high low rig with many more hooks and the hooks have to have long shanks so that you can slide plastic straws on it as the attractant. Once you tie on 8-10 hooks with straws, tie a snap swivel at the bottom to clip on your weight.
