Holy hell, it took me years to find a channel that wasn't focused solely on racing or shilling the latest fad trinkets. Keep fighting the good fight, my friend, and I'll keep watching!

It was $160 or so on Amazon. Not the fanciest, but neither am I.

gaddamn workhorses, those old Raleighs, that may well outlast us all. The cablr routing on mixte & step-through frames is a recipe for water influx, though :-( Also: first upgrade should be to alloy wheels: SunRim CR-18s come in this 650A/26x1 3/8 size. Truthfully, though, I came for the Rambler news drop ;-)

Good call on the cables! I’ll keep an eye on that. Thinking of keeping the wheels as is. They’re in good shape and I truly don’t think this bike has been ridden much.

Cool bike. Good job on the video. Beautiful place to live. The ghost shifting might be because the cable is catching at the BB when the frame flexes (especially if you stand up going uphill). It holds tension there, and then when the frame moves it lets go. Try lubing with grease. It doesn't really attract much dirt and will protect it. If the cable is a dull light grey (oxidized) change the inner cable. The shifter needs adjusted too of course, but you'll see what I mean.

They're friction shifters, and the screw was definitely 100% loose, derailleur just pulling it into the hardest gear through spring tension. I've been fighting with this for years, and I know I just have to invest in locktite, but I'm lazy that way.

Hi, Marc 🙂 What do you like about that neighbourhood that makes it one of your favourites?

I like how close it is to downtown, but it's not as expensive as some other neighbourhoods in the area. It also seems like it has a good family vibe :)
