Silly question here from a newbie rider (5months in on a 125). Do things like this heated grip draw a lot of power from the battery? Just wondering as the 125 bike I have (VanVan) seems tiny so coming from a car back ground where the battery powers loads of stuff, I’m just wondering whether me putting heated grips will mean I won’t be able to add /upgrade anything else e.g. lights, swap the original speedo to an electronic one, pop in a USB socket to use/charge my phone etc

If I want to permanently install a floor anchor in a concrete slab, is there any advantage to using an anchor epoxy in the holes when placing the anchors or bolts? If so can you recommend a particular brand? Thanks!
@thasherm2 ай бұрын
For anyone watching this video to install these, DO NOT USE THE SUPER GLUE! Buy and use Renthall Grip Glue. If you're going to use the super glue, use a small amount followed by a small spray of contact cleaner, and install them QUICKLY. Remove your throttle tube afterwards and clean the inside and outside edge of it of all remaining adhesive

The lock isn't what the thief goes for though: the chain is once you've got rid of the chain the lock is nothing more than an expensive paperweight. They target the chain with the angle grinder, a minute later that lock is beside the bike doing nothing: gee thanks for the expensive keyring.

So, I just installed them on Honda CBF600 SA (2008) and trottle grip cannot be shoven all the way because there is an extra plastic edge which is covered by original grips, but not by Oxford Hot Grips Pro Tour. Now, I have about 5mm gap between the trottle grip and the edge on the left :( I'll contact Oxford for sure, but they'll probably say it's my fault. 😢 But that is not true, because these grips just don't fit on my bike :((( be warned!

For it's price point, Oxford's stuff is pretty darn good, and their riding gear fits a lot better than other entry-level brands. I've bought a few things from Oxford, and they've been pretty good.

I bought these recently and I'm rather confused as to how exactly I should set them up. The female end is simple enough; pass the strap through a solid tube or loop of the bike and then feed the clip through the loop of the strap. The male end, however, sits in the middle of a strap whose each end carries a loop, as well a little velcro thing for securing flappy bits I suppose. I can secure my duffel bag well enough but I'm certain I'm not doing it properly. Need to figure out how to properly secure the male strap to the bike with its two loops.

Make sure the throttle side dry fits very loosely before attempting to glue it or you will like be buying a new throttle tube as well as a replacing throttle side Hot Grips. Very loosely as in there is no resistance at all on or off. Also maybe don't put the glue on before you slide it on, put it about 3/4 of the way up on the throttle tube. I am having to replace my throttle tube as well as the right side grip because it seized on 3/4 of the way up in less than 2 seconds.
@polynoominen4 ай бұрын
u could just heat it up ... and it slides off . no need to replace anything
@ariesmarsexpress4 ай бұрын
@@polynoominen If you have a metal throttle tube, maybe. Otherwise no. The grips themselves are made to be hot and have overlapping plates along the length of the inside that shrink down to clamp on to whatever you are glue them to when the glue hits the plastic coating lining the inside of them..

A rebuttal from a commonwealth country- Canada. smirk....I'm not looking for a fight just hear me out.......I just had to say something to your comment. Stubbzzy310, And by the way, Your comment bent me funny like. .I admit it......I ride a Ducati 1098 superbike and even hate putting on the factory tail bag. So not a luggage connoisseur by any stretch. I am normally impartial but I do reign as a sarcasm aficionado ..And well...your comment stirred me into thought & prose......By your reasoning there would only be 1 motorcycle manufacturer in the world. Because anyone improving or making similar product has "ripped them off". OK then game on.... I choose a Peugeot motorcycle with a Lazer Helmet, on John Boyd Dunlop's wearing Lewis Leathers with John Pound travel bags. those are the reported oldest of each category. (quick search). Bet I would be looked at funny....yea lets not make anything good , better or widely available....brilliant ! Not to be fact checked but I researched the many companies who make dry bags..Just for you, because your comment had prime rental space in my head....So Oxford made luggage since 1973 Kreiga was founded in 2000. A lifetime guarantee vs KIreiga's 10 year.....So they didn't "rip-off" SW mototech? giant loop, Cucyma ,TOURATECH or the dozens German, Scandinavian, European or Asian and Indian manufacturers designs nor those not seen in regular media channels eh? (yes yes run-on sentence ..sue me...) .cmon mate....loads of similar examples. Oxford, it seems, took the best of the top features from multiple brands, (including their own) heard from their customers and dealers and made their own style. As good manufacturers do. I own no Oxford products but I may buy one and imprint "Stubzzy310" on it, in honour of the lesson you gave us & to all manufacturers, entrepreneurs and designers alike. Cheers !

Are the HotGrips wired to a switched live? Any issues please contact [email protected]
@INed-dq6yz2 ай бұрын
Bro, you can turn them on, but after few seconds they switch off the heater and start flashing green which means they are switched OFF and waiting on correct voltage level to be switched ON again. This state lasts for 5 minutes, if voltage doesn't reach the required level they switch themselves OFF fully and led turns off too. That is at least how it is supposes to work and how mine work.
@Mech.E2 ай бұрын
@@INed-dq6yz correct. If this is undesired then it should be connected to a switched live wire.
