Another blog that came to my attention. After 2007, I opted out of the project for personal reasons. I just learned afterwards there have been some irregularities that happened in between. As a matter of fact, I didn't know that 80 Pinoy nurses were served deportation notices. But times have changed and are still changing. For sure more Pinoy nurses are coming and the phenomenon will continue. The most important to do now is for people like you to acquire the right information to help those who are coming. The laws of Finland are strict, let alone immigration laws. One more thing I would to say is that life in Finland is tough even for the Finns. For the Pinoys, Finland is not for the fainthearted. The only way to survive here and enjoy life is to learn how to be tough like the Finns. It is about SISU. SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) is a normal phenomenon that affects all Finns. The only way to counter it is to do outdoor activities, e.i., walking, running, skiing, and ice-dipping from the sauna. At least the nurses in Joensuu are enjoying it. Thanks again for this blog.

Shout out to the blogger Julie and each of you Pinoy nurses. This is the first I came across your blog. It is amazing how the project of bringing Pinoy nurses to Finland has progressed through the years. I helped open this project in 2007 by bringing the 1st Finnish human resource company to the Philippines. When I look at you all I can only see the positive things coming out of this endeavor despite the many negative things that you expressed. Our nursing manpower situation is still dire but a bunch of you are already a big help and the beginning of more good things to come for Finland, for you and your families, and for the Philippines. Keep up the good work. Mabuhay.

She meant that during summer, while other students are having their vacation, you can take summer classes to shorten your period of study.. she was autumn intake..
