This was so much fun! You put me on the hunt for several Dimensions kits that I would love to have..thanks LOL! Question..do you stitch in hand with the fabric that is supplied or have you ever switched fabric out?

Thanks for watching! I have only switched out fabric in kits a couple of times, and only if the kit is not full coverage and there’s a lot of unstitched space in the background. A lot of Dimensions kits call for 4-6 strands for half stitches and I find that Aida is much easier (sturdy) for handling those thicker threads. I’ve stitched some ornaments in hand but anything bigger than an ornament I always use a QSnap or frame (or hoop/nurge). One day I hope to master in-hand stitching on all my projects! 🙂

Hi Kathryn. Love a parade!😁 Thank you for spending so much time on it. Many of the kits you showed were new to me, so I kept dashing off to the internet to have a look. Love The Guardian! I also had a look at the Holiday Harmony wreath and then saw the stocking: it's way nicer! All of the ornaments are cute and I do like a good lighthouse. I've been watching Belinda Aussie Stitcher doing her Winter Lace: it's challenging but gorgeous. Two of our stitch group are doing Winter Cabin now! (Florina Floz's Corner and Laura I Stitch Birds ?). Florina finished her Victorian Elegance too. PS: Have you tried using a hair dryer to remove labels? It loosens the glue and they usually peel off easily. ⚘️

Pride and Prejudice from 1995 with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle is my favorite version too! I’m jealous of your new craft space. My spouse took over my craft room when I worked in another city and I really want it back so I have a space to work on my quilting and other crafts and corral all my knitting, cross stitch and other stash. Great seeing your progress (especially with one with the girl with the flowers!), stash enhancement, and plans. Your project bag plans look like they will be perfect for their intended projects.

I’m sorry you got your craft room taken over! I was in a corner in the basement before, and even though it was cold and not ideal I was just happy to have any space at all with a few shelves. Maybe you can find an area to put some shelves and organize your supplies? Or just say, “Honey, I’m taking over the living room!” 😉

I loved the video and seeing your beautiful kits, etc. I am happy for you that you now have a space to keep your sewing machine out - I now have one too so I understand how you feel. I have made projects bags many times and one thing you want to make sure is, if you want your kit outside in the bag, make sure that you either make the bag tall enough or wide enough to easily fit that. I find that I really prefer mine to be taller bags with either a zipper or use magnetic snaps and I also like to add handles which make them easy to take with me to stitching get togethers. Just fit them to your needs. Have fun sewing. P.S. During Covid I learned to quilt by watching videos online, so I have fallen into that rabbit hole and have bought lots of material. Fun, fun………………😂

The Girl selling flowers is stunning, funny thing I was thinking about it reminded me of Beauty and The Beast and then you said , I should get Beauty out again!!!😂😂 The bags are super easy, FYI if you use hoops and just want to store them in there also the bag will need to be a little larger. The fabric for Pretty In Pink is so beautiful and she is going to be lovely. Happy Stitching! Good luck with the bags.

Holy bananas! What a wonderful collection of stash! It's always fun to see what others have compared to my own stash because I always end up adding more. I do like several other brands (I.e. Sunset, Monarch Horizons, Bucilla, Janlynn, etc) but it seems like i always gravitate towards Dimensions the most.

It’s not silly at all to be so happy to have a dedicated sewing space- Yayy you! Our last two homes have had 2 spare rooms, which my husband and I each claim one, and now I don’t know how I used to get anything done (I made queen-sized quilts even!), just sewing in the dining area pretty much in our living room, until projects were done. So glad for you! Happy sewing!

My project bags are roughly 12x10" inches finished. I like mine big enough so an 8 1/2 X 11 piece of paper can fit inside easily. But I do have a few smaller ones and a few bigger ones. I kind of played around until I found a size I liked, but that is what is nice about making your own bags, you can experiment.

That's a bummer about your big box stores. I have to drive to Olympia and Lacey, WA to get to our big box stores, and they still have cross stitch goodies. Of course, with stitchers supporting smaller businesses and ordering online, it's not surprising to see less cross stitch supplies.
