My clips don't snap together around the post. Makes it difficult to slide brackets over them.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm finding it challenging to put the coupling on the rod (before sliding the railing on them). Any tips from when you set them up?

put it in a notch you can feel it click or set itself.

That worked. Put the clips together and slide along notch until it clicks.
