Amazing, I am only 14y but I am also much interested in politics. I recently was part of a EU youth project in Spain. People don’t actually realise how much the EU does for us. My parents best friends moved from Italy to Belgium too. They told me they moved with a tiny savings. He could start working in an Italian restaurant in Brussels, she was a nurse but continued studying in Belgium. They made the move, now he owns 4 restaurants and she’s an emergency doctor at the UZ Leuven, 19y later. They live in a 700 square meter house with indoor and outdoor pool, own apartments in Italy and in Knokke Belgium. Because they worked hard for it, something a lot of people don’t realise how many opportunities this country offers. I hope you and your girlfriend will be just as lucky as my parents friends. I find it hilarious that you also complained about the expensive cappuccino. 🤣 It’s very Italian and Belgium has a lot of Italians. I would personally complain about the weather but Italians complain about the price for cappuccino 🤣🤣🤣 Best of luck in Belgium

If you want to continue working on an EU project led by young volunteers send a message to EU&U on instagram. We have over 70 young students and professionals from 17 different countries working to close the gap between citizens and institutions.

I've never seen you, since you're just starting out. But I think you're very, very talented. I know you're working on that PhD, but with your combination of intelligence, education, ability with languages, video making skills and passion for societal progress, I'm sorry to say, I think you're going to be a big success on youtube. So the career you probably had in mind is out the window, and we'll see you on TLDR's channel within the year. Whatever you do, I wish you the best of luck and have NO doubt you'll do it well! You've already built a firm base in life.

That would be fun, I'm a big fan of TLDR. In the meantime what would you like to see from my channel?

@@pietroval Well, I would be interested in your movement experiences. I think I heard you say you had some US education. So I'd like to hear about how your transition went, and any photos or videos from that time. I think I'm understanding that you did your BA and Masters in Italy. Did you have students from other EU countries? How was their integration and language ability? Was the Masters taught in English or Italian? What was it like to apply for work in another EU member country? Is that normal or unusual? And why? (other than your relationship, since that might too personal). I ask these things because I'm about to do a move TO Europe, and I'm trying to decide between 2 countries (complex US tax issues). I'm even considering if I'll apply for a Fulbright Scholarship (I've got about 72 hours!!!). But I don't think most people realize the complexity of country switching, higher education, languages, integration, isolation, money issues. It's not really something that comes up too often with any detail on youtube. The MOST I've seen is people coming from African countries and India since they are highly motivated to change their life quality, so they go into great detail. BUT, EU member to EU member, or EU to America, or America to EU aren't really a thing you see too often. There are videos, but they kinda gloss over it. So it might be an rich topic to consider. I've looked at EU data for example, and Romanians are MASSIVE movers. And of course, their language has that connection to Italian. So there's a lot going on over there...

Bravo.

Not sure what's going on with some of the comments here, but I prefer to stay in a positive mindset (like you obviously). Loved the video and you thinking out loud and the positive aura you radiate. We need more of this on this planet. You're going to be a good addition to our Brussels! Brussels definitely has a lot to offer as well. Just avoid politics... oh wait 😀🤡

Bonjour, bienvenue. Je n'aime pas trop Bruxelles mais j'espère que vous vous y sentirez bien. Les italiens assimilent le français assez vite, vous n'aurez, d'ailleurs, pas trop de mal à comprendre mon commentaire sans traduire.

Dear Pietro is still very young and optimistic. A healthy dose of cynicism is natural. I hope someone older and wiser is mentoring him. Belgium is below Italy in many aspects. He will learn that. Givem him time. Safety first dear Pietro.
